I’m honestly not sure why it was deleted unless one can complain about a post and it will get deleted without the deleter seeing if said complaint had any merit.

Carr faded really fast. Dude could still play at his age but really just wanted to relax with his millions instead of "put his body on the line" kind of stuff. Don't blame him but really he must of tried but just got injured over the years. How does Brady do it but not Carr?

The dude could've had a great career. It's one of the things that makes all that time such a waster. He's a good athlete who refused to fun for first downs that were open right in front of him. He could've easily picked up a first down or more in nearly every game, but he was such a twat that other teams wouldn't even bother to account for the possibility. Maybe a couple of first downs doesn't sound like a lot, but at worst it's another series of downs that runs the clock or gets us in FG position--or leads to a TD.STHfrontrow wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2026 11:01 pm Carr faded really fast. Refusing to learn the play fake and pump fake was also terrible.
The bottom line is that the dude never worked on the weakest parts of his game. After his third year, he called it good.

But he did he work on his Call of Duty and pool basketball skills and upped his game noticeably in both. There's just not enough time to fix everything. They had to dummy down the playbook for the guy. It is well documented that a guy who was paid 20M a year spent 9 or more hours a day playing a f[raiders_icon]cking video game. Hell he posted youtube videos of him doing so until someone outed him for not bothering learn his job in the offseason. Once your season is over, that does not mean you don't work. He did not.
f[raiders_icon]ck him, he was a Saint.

This is from AI, so take from it what you will, but I cannot find any reputable outlet stating that Derek Carr spent 9 hours a day playing video games during off season;
"No, Derek Carr did not spend 9 hours a day playing video games during the offseason. This claim seems to be a mix-up or an internet rumor blending different NFL quarterback stories. In reality, Derek Carr is widely known among coaches and teammates as a "football lifer" and a film-room junkie.
When he was with the Raiders, he famously had his own dedicated office in the team facility where he spent hours studying tape and creating film cutups for his wide receivers. The New York Times +4The "9 hours" figure and the video game narrative likely stem from two completely different NFL storylines:The Kyler Murray Contract Clause: You might be thinking of Minnesota Vikings (formerly Arizona Cardinals) quarterback Kyler Murray. In 2022, a major controversy erupted when it was leaked that his contract extension included an "independent study clause" requiring him to complete 4 hours of film study per week. The clause explicitly stated he could not be distracted by television or video games while studying.
NFL.com +1"Video Game" Numbers: During their time together at Fresno State and later on the Raiders, Derek Carr and star wideout Davante Adams were frequently described as putting up "video game numbers" because of their explosive statistical performances. Instagram·snfonnbcCarr has consistently been praised for his intense offseason work ethic and leadership rather than any marathon."

Oh, yea, that is some bullshit right there. We saw the game logs ourselves before St Carr deleted them. Fool was proud of it until they got posted on a now deleted site. There was even him playing the game on youtube when he got a call, and then shut everything down. It was funny as hell.

From what I always read, Derek worked his ass off. Who dummied down the playbook for him? Musgrave? Downing? Gruden? McDaniel's?Attyla wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 8:58 am They had to dummy down the playbook for the guy. Many players of his generation are avid gamers.

"Forget it, he's rolling."...he's wrong, but he's rolling. And claiming what I posted was "BS".Reno Hightower wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 11:57 am From what I always read, Derek worked his ass off. Who dummied down the playbook for him? Musgrave? Downing? Gruden? McDaniel's?

Gruden's playbook. And yes, I admit many of his generation played video games for hours on end. But most of them did not have one of 32 of the most important jobs in sports being paid 20M+ a year. Carr came into camp under Gruden not knowing the playbook. I know a lot of you guys were not part of this site during that time but we were able to put together some pretty damning stuff. And as I said, a now deleted site held some very interesting screen captures of just that stuff. And honestly I don't give a shit if I am believed. The eyes that saw it, mine included, were pretty stunned by what we saw. The game logs were deleted, and I am not skilled enough to find the deleted files. I admit freely that I will not be believed by some because there is a running axe to grind because of who I am.Reno Hightower wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 11:57 am From what I always read, Derek worked his ass off. Carr has been married for 14 years and has 5 children andI seriously doubt his wife would have put up with him playing 9 hours of video a day.
If you have a reputable outlet bolstering your erroneous claim, by all means, post it...I did not "bash" anyone and your "facts" are not factual.

I am surprised Gruden tolerated it. I remember how he ripped another incumbent QB Randall Cunningham and elevated Roodney Peete because he didn't feel Cunningham was putting in the time watching film or grasping what he wanted done. He ran Jeff George out of town for the same reasons. Gruden was notoriously hard on QB's. It took some chutzpah to pull the pin on Al's prized free agent QB.Attyla wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 12:05 pm Gruden's playbook. If that's the case all the more reason to believe Gru rolled into Oakland fat and happy, literarily, with a few mph's off his fastball.
Carr had his issues but I never believed a poor work ethic was one of them. Gannon spent some time with him and gave him high marks in that regard as well.
Now, Carr was a soft player after 2017. He earned that criticism.

In the history of Raiders QBs:
Marinovich: failure to reach his potential.
Carr- refusal to reach his potential.
