Glaze is fighting for a starting spot. Richardson is fighting for a backup spot. Porter is the starter over Richardson. Taron Johnson, Stukes, and Zeke have taken Nickle snaps from Richardson.chucker wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 4:53 pm Other players drafted before Spytek: Glaze, Decam Richardson, Eichenberg, Laube, Tucker, O'Connell, Koonce, Crosby, Miller. Maybe there aren't just 3 guys remaining from the old regime?
Laube, Tucker, O'Connell, and Koonce are all on the bubble. Nailor was signed to replace Tucker. Jack Bech is our slot WR.
Max Crosby was traded. Vetoed by Baltimore.
It sure looks like the new regime is taking steps to move on from the old players to me.

Tucker is probably our best receiver right now. He isnt a #1 receiver though. I would rate him as a borderline 2nd/3rd receiver.mranquales wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 5:15 pm Glaze is fighting for a starting spot. Richardson is fighting for a backup spot. Carlson has steadily declined the past 6 yrs. He went from 94% down to 81% on fg. He was 34/46 from 50 and beyond. Putting it into perspective 2020& 2022 he 21/24. From then on he was 13/22raidersince63 wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 4:02 pm The only decision the Raiders have made this off season that I wasn't crazy about was letting Carlson go.
I know the first preseason game isn't necessarily a reliable barometer and often results in knee jerk reactions, but from what I've seen so far, Carlson I believe, is both more reliable and has a stronger leg than our other current 2 options.
Personally, I'd feel better if they brought Carlson back.
Gay isn't better but lets not act like Carlson was automatic. He almost fell off a cliff in recent years

I think Carlson had problems with the new kickoff rules and it threw him off his game. He had a big leg when we needed to use it. Gay was worse last season than Carlson also, it was close though.Hellbound wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 5:23 pm Carlson has steadily declined the past 6 yrs. He went from 94% down to 81% on fg. Didn't say or imply that he was automatic and I'm aware of his numbers...all I was saying is that compared to what we currently have, which isn't much, I believe Carlson to be better and again, has the stronger leg.Hellbound wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 5:23 pm Carlson has steadily declined the past 6 yrs. League wide, 84% is about average...Carlson is around 87%.
But hey, we're still about a month away from real football and there's not a lot to talk about.

Most regimes do have significant turnover. That's normal. You actually said "Every draft pick from the old regime is gone except for JPJ, Bowers, and Mayer". A blatantly false statement.mranquales wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 5:15 pm Glaze is fighting for a starting spot. Richardson is fighting for a backup spot. Porter is the starter over Richardson. Also false is that Gruden traded two all pros.
Just post opinions if your "facts" aren't facts.
And it's a JPJ problem if he's playing with less energy under different coaching staffs. NFL players should play like they are fighting for their jobs..... or they may soon be out of a job.
I like JPJ..... I just think he's overrated by some Raider fans and his sketchy availability isn't encouraging.

Yeah Carlson had really gone downhill. He had a great start with the Raiders. I was glad they moved on but really hate the route they went to replace him. Gays best days are behind him and the rook doesn't have much of a legHellbound wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 5:23 pm Carlson has steadily declined the past 6 yrs. He went from 94% down to 81% on fg. Yea one would've thought they could've found someone of note. I wasn't very impressed by either of the kickers they brought inFLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 6:44 pm Yeah Carlson had really gone downhill. He had a great start with the Raiders. Like that's a special trait of this new regime?mranquales wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 5:15 pm Glaze is fighting for a starting spot. Richardson is fighting for a backup spot. Porter is the starter over Richardson. Taron Johnson, Stukes, and Zeke having taken Nickle snaps from Richardson.

The problem is we keep changing regimes and their flipping players like they have the clap.

I was told in chat that Carlson was a gold jacket HOF until they let his favorite long snapper go. Cant remember who it was. Apparently long snappers make or break kickers?

I was so stoked when I thought we had our next hall of fame center in JPJ. That hope proved to be unfounded, I'm sorry to say.chucker wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 6:23 pm

My affinity for JPJ is talent, nothing more. I also don't like when politics get in the way of the obviously superior player.chucker wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 6:23 pm I like JPJ..... I just think he's overrated by some Raider fans and his sketchy availability isn't encouraging.
It also doesn't help when a regime swears they made an upgrade (he reminds me of Jason Kelce!) only for that to be the worst center in the NFL. Then Alex Cappa, the worst OL in the league 3 years running, comes to the team and starts at multiple positions, with the assertion that JPJ would have to COMPETE WITH HIM for playing time.
As far as I'm aware, there is no controversy. Fans are going to be understandably frustrated when one of the best linemen on the team can't get on the field because of made up storylines.
All that being stated, I fully expect JPJ to be starting Week 1.

Other than Miller Crosby rest can walk along with a few other stiffs to include chinn and Palo m..

I don’t quite get all the surprise chat about Hemingway when we saw a small sample size of what we could potentially have at the end of last season
Half the fanbase worried cause we haven't found any starters but i’m glad that we’re taking the slow approach with these kids maybe developing them before we throw them to the wolves for once
Can’t remember us ever trying the slow approach that or i’ve blocked it out cause we’ve been that bad
