My word, there is so little real news these days. Clicking on speculative stories about trades and personality issues gets old. Try this instead:
The Raiders-Dolphins playoff game, know as the Sea of Hands game, is covered in great depth by NFL Films on YouTube for free. One of the interviewees is one of my favorite Raiders of all time - Phil Villapiano. I had not watched this game for over 20 years and I had forgotten all of the twists and turns of this classic playoff game. Re-live the work of Art Shell, Cliff Branch, and especially Freddie B. See how players used to really be allowed to hit ball carriers, QBs, and WRs with almost full abandon. It is a great distraction from the boring off-season and the doldrums we are in right now. Click on the YouTube link and enjoy:

That Miami game was bar none, the greatest game I ever saw. Miami had us down multiple times including the opening kick off TD return...but we kept fighting back and it took 4 incredible catches by the Raiders to pull out the win.

At that time Al Derogado (sp?) one of the announcers stated it was the best game he ever saw.

Had nothing better to so I decided to watch the provided link by RBHubbard...watched every minute and for a short time, I was 21 again. And even though I already knew the outcome, I had forgotten about Villapiano's game sealing interception...and yeah, I got a little misty.

Charlie Jones and Al Dirogatis seems like they did all of the Raiders games back then but I'm not sure but I seem to remember Don Meredith shouting "He caught it, he caught it!" on the Sea Of Hands play too, so I don't know.

I also recall back then the Raiders home field looked amazing...even every 10 yard marker had a Silver shield around it.

After reading the replies I am looking forward to watching this. I did not have the privilege of watching this game live, mores the pity.

1980 2nd game of 3 between Raiders/Chargers that season, season ended with us beating them in the Champ game and then winning the SB.

SD in the 4th just scored a TD on 4th and 1 to tie at 24-24.
Then this happened back to back, capped by Christen doing Michael Jackson. (bonus prime Al shots)

Well worth it...I remember it being just before Xmas and I had 2 friends over to watch the game. One was a Dolphin fan and the other was a Steelers fan. Should not have invited them, lol. But when Miami ran the opening kickoff back for a TD they gave me a lot of crap to say the least but I got the last laugh, at least for a week...until the Steelers kicked the hell out of us.

Can't remember, but is that 1980 Raiders team still the only WC Champ?

I think it was Curt Gowdy in the booth with those other two that day. My recollection anyway. Gonna watch it later.

Someone else did recently. Don't remember who.

Edit. Looked it up. Tampa Bay the most recent with Denver being the second behind us with others following.

Lotta whining from the fins about the field.

I guess the Raiders didn't play on the same field, or have fast players.

I just had to check... "On December 21st, 1974, NBC Telecasted an AFC Divisional Playoff game between the Dolphins and the Raiders. The announcers were Curt Gowdy, Don Meredith and Al De Rogatis."

When you watch it later, right after the 57:11 mark you can hear Meredith saying "he caught it, he caught it".

Yeah, not sure who whined about the Raiders the most, the Dolphins or the Steelers.
