Funny as hell watching this thread go from a referendum on Ruggs to a referendum on dogs.

There are those that know dogs rule and those who are wrong.

In my past:
1 harrier
2 golden retrievers
1 beagle (my buddy)
Currently:
1 yellow lab/whippet/border collie mix. He is long and lean like a whippet, but yellow/white fluffy fur like a lab with some spots.
1 German Shepard/border collie mix. She looks EXACTLY like a GS, except she has white stockings on her forelegs and some white in her face. She is also completely deaf.

I didn’t know about the police involvement with the chain of custody..Attyla wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 7:45 am The sentence has nothing to do with Nevada law. He was up for a lot worse charges but the police messed up chain of custody on the evidence so they went to a plea agreement instead.
Although I have to laugh and shake my head
Regardless of the police investigation you would think the accident scene itself would be enough at 100 plus mph to land this punk a more severe sentence

Right? I mean, how much more evidence do you need?raiders72 wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 7:21 pm I didn’t know about the police involvement with the chain of custody..

I just hope he is the cell block queen, if you know what I mean.
And I mean 3 times a day.

I wonder how the family of the victim feels about this?

How many years do you think the law allows for involuntary manslaughter? In many states its 2-4 years. In some, its as much as 10 years. In the federal system, its 1-8 years. His sentence of 9 years is at the high end of the spectrum, and even if he is paroled after 3 years, its what he would have served in many US states.

Well, I am partial to Springers but I also have three of them. Great with the kids growing up and excellent day to day companions. One is with me every day. I am fortunate have the kind of occupation that allows me to take my dog with me. It's no small irony that I named him Gannon.Viper wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 7:16 pm No, no, no. There are black Cane Corsos and then there are dogs. The real Viper.
I hadn't read where Ruggs is blaming the social anxiety of fame and fortune he didn't seek as an excuse for what happened. Yeah, ok that's why he was driving 154 in his 2020 C8 Vette? That's a great way to be on the down low.

I baby sat my next door neighbor’s Springer Spaniel for a week once. For a couple of years I thought she was kind of a nothing burger dog. Then we had her in the house for a week and found her to be a very interesting and sweet dog. Her personality emerged.
My two Goldens are my first and second dogs. I waited until I was almost in my 70’s to be tied down with dogs - always had the more independent cats. We cherish them. The boy dog is sleeping right now between my wife and me.
Oh, and Ruggs should get the full 10 year stay in the pen.

BAL evidence was mishandled.
