I think it's pretty obvious they were negotiating a contract with Hendrickson and made sure that was a done deal before killing the Crosby trade.
That seems crooked as can be even if not technically illegal.

The one question I'd love to ask the Ravens? Did Hendrickson pass his physical? I'm guessing he didn't, but since there isn't two 1st round picks involved it won't matter.

IMO DeCosta really wanted Max bad enough to pay the steep price to give his new coach Minter an elite tool to work with. I find it hard to believe that it was him that did the 180 and likely Biscotti read a lot of press clippings over the weekend panning the move for the Ravens and got serious buyers remorse likely politely asking DeCosta to back out of the deal. It's not a lot different than when Reggie made one of his first big UFA splashes signing Saffold with a deal that got panned by the media as a massive overpay and Mark Davis putting the kibosh on it using the failed physical as a means to get out. Reggie and his staff were prepared to accept the physical and disagreed with Davis but the owner always wins. The only difference is that Mark wasn't screwing over another organization. Saffold of course went on to play 8 more seasons as I expect Crosby will go on well into his 30's.

No, we won't but the NFL is going to be in an interesting position. Anytime a team gets cold feet? Suddenly the doctors to the rescue.

The NFL is fooling themselves if they think this is the last time it happens. If nothing happens? Any team can point to the Ravens as getting a pass. Will this happen? Who knows but its not like its not within the realm of possibilities.
