Man, I want Kubiak to be the next coach. Him and Mendoza would give me hope they are finally turning this thing around.Corleone wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 5:34 am Yes sir. Wouldn’t have shared it otherwise. He’s staking his reputation on this one, let’s see if it hits (we’ll know very soon I think).

That's honestly where I'm at. Webb would be a slight disappointment and anyone else would be a disaster.

If we get Kubiak or Webb, that would exceed my expectations. I was expecting another rethread (and a bad one at that).

I can't play the clip from Pellisorro until tonight. Disappointing that Mark is still in the middle of things.
1. Hire competent football people and get out of the way
2. GM has final say in personnel but works closely with coach
3. Coach assembles their own staff.
Not that hard.

Oh, I didn’t think you were. I just find it to be silly sensationalism. If a story speaks poorly about someone or something, it’s always an “insider” who talked to another “insider. Then if anyone is actually a team reporter, he’ll usually be nothing but a suck-up.raidersince63 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 5:20 am I wasn't really taking a stance either way...just putting it out there for consideration. But for me, and possibly a HC candidate, the perception of the Raiders' current situation might be a turn off for those candidates.
On the other hand, the Raiders do have some building blocks for a new regime...so who knows?
This story tries to paint a picture of disfunction because someone might be 2000 whole miles away. Which may or may not be true. And this seems daunting although it’s about people that are rich enough to own a football team in the NFL. The same NFL that flies entire film crews and their equipment, teams and their equipment, to play and film football games for American television in places like Spain, Germany, Brazil, Ireland. They’re even doing one in Australia next season. Amazing what one can accomplish by making a plan and having an appointment.

I wanted them to hire Kubiak last season for OC so I’m definitely excited about the possibility of him becoming the HC but I’m going to pump the brakes here as he hasn’t even had a 2nd interview so this seems a little premature.

Gotta agree...there's so much stuff out there that it's really hard to sift through the BS and know what's real.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 6:17 am Oh, I didn’t think you were. Just as an example, early this morning I clicked on a "headline" that said that McDaniels had signed with the Chargers to be their OC, I thought it was an updated confirmation, only to be taken to a story that was over a week old that has since been proven to be untrue...ultimately, he has in fact not signed.

I haven't even seen Mark mentioned - what is it that makes you say he's still in the middle of things?rhumbob wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 6:05 am I can't play the clip from Pellisorro until tonight. Disappointing that Mark is still in the middle of things.

While he has certainly made his share of mistakes, at least he’s continually tried and changed up what he’s doing. He’s trying to build a perennial winner. It hasn’t worked. With that said a lot of folks just enjoy hating on himchucker wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 6:20 am I haven't even seen Mark mentioned - what is it that makes you say he's still in the middle of things?

While nobody knows what is true and what is not, for me it goes back to benefit of the doubt. And this team does not get that from me until proven otherwise.

Pelissero also mentioned that Joe Brady interviewed while Tom Brady was calling the NFC game, but that wasn't true. That was an assumption due to a poorly worded tweet and bad reporting just caused people to run with it. Joe Brady's interview was on Monday, even though it appears he arrived in Vegas on Sunday. But don't let the facts ruin a good story.

I feel like we will get a retread and like it. That’s why I’m bracing for the worse. However, they may hire a retread, Daboll is my biggest fear, but I won’t like it!BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 6:24 am While nobody knows what is true and what is not, for me it goes back to benefit of the doubt. Its odd there is no smoke about Kingsbury. He parted with Washington under mutual agreement, so you would think he would be in the conversation regarding many of these openings.
