I really hope so. I want the raiders to be great again. I have never been a fan of any other team in any other sport. Only games I ever see is the raiders games. I really want to be wrong about Mendoza but something tells me he's not that good.

It's a shame there isn't another option. Even Carson Beck, with all his limitations, looked more capable of doing damage with his passes. The Hail Mary barely reached 50 yards. If we draft Mendoza, it'll be another five losing seasons in a row. Didn't anyone else see the same thing I did?
I think you're way off. And honestly, the fact that you felt Carson Beck looked better makes me suspicious of your motives.

You’ll catch hell on here for this take, but I agree

The special tools just aren’t there. We are pushing all our chips in on him overcoming every single physical limitation and becoming our franchise QB. All I’m saying is, there’s a lot to overcome, given that he is not going to be paired with an elite Oline or defense.

We’ll see though.

It was great to see him vs a really physical team and he was getting thrown around, things weren't going his way perfectly but he never folded. This one was just as impressive as the games that he had more TDs than incompletions.
It actually told you more about the person or reaffirmed what we had seen in some earlier games when things didn’t go swimmingly out the gate

Physical limitations? Lol. You (and the guy you're agreeing with) make it sound like the guy has a noodle arm or something. Ive seen plenty of throws Mendoza has made at Cal and at IU, demonstrating above average arm strength/accuracy. Mendoza can make every nfl throw required of a qb and then some. He may not have the strongest arm ever, doesn't mean he's somehow got a weak arm that must be compensated for, lol.

Exactly what physical limitations does he possess that fall under the category "every single?" His deep ball? OK and I would agree that it is not a huge part of his game. His mechanics? They are sound. His pocket awareness? Sure, at times but that happens with almost all rookies. His leadership? Not a problem at all. His running? While not pretty, he does run and that run of his last night was the difference between winning and losing, His field vision? Nope, that is spot on. His "slow passes?" No, he can and does put sufficient zip on the ball. You realize he is a red zone killer right? 48 TD passing, 10 rushing and only one turnover.

Every QB has flaws, but this 6'5 QB is the best prospect since Burrow and it is not even close. Accurate as hell, leader on the field and a true student of the game. He has two social media accounts, a youtube account and a linkdin account. That is to reduce the distractions. And the guy is smart as hell as well. Was supposed to go to Yale before he switched it up to Cal. Already has is college degree as well. He is now finishing up his MBA at 22 years of age. The guy's work ethic is off the charts. What I don't like about his game? Sure I would love for his deep pass ability to be a bit better, but he can throw deep it is just not his game. Would I like his scramble to be better, sure, who would not like that. Is his pocket awareness a problem? I would not classify it that way, but rather on a short list of things to fix. Does he need a good run game to be at his best? This is definitely true. Is it a problem? One could certainly say it could be. Will we need to fix the line issues. Yes, but if your Oline is bad, the QB is bad. That is pretty universal. Good news is, this FA crop of linemen can fix that pretty fast.

So, tell me about "every single physical limitation" but tell me about every limitation. Not just the physical ones because when you include those I think the picture is more accurate.

What f[raiders_icon]cking limitations? We aint talking Ty Detmer. Can he make the throws? Yes, next question. There is nothing to overcome.

I know some of you would prefer a JaMarcus Russell Sugar Bowl performance and oh and ah at deep passes out of the gun with no pass rush but what I saw last night told me everything I needed to know.

The kid got punched in the mouth and still had a plan. GTFOH with that nonsense.

I would likely finally say I’m done and give up on the raiders. I learned a long time ago when something doesn’t make you happy to get rid of it. The Raiders are the only things I haven’t gotten rid of. This would be the push that probably does it.
