I'm not a betting man, but a sure thing isn't betting.Attyla wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 6:03 pm I am processing the odds on Mendoza vs Moore but will wait until both officially declare
But I will say a, currently, a sucker bet against Mendoza will pay off huge for the house!!!!
Hypothetically if I put a bet in on Mendoza ($58,611) and if any of the following happen, does it void my bet or I just lose?
He doesn't come out.
He states he won't play for the Raiders, not now, not ever.
Injured badly during the playoffs.
Any freak accident that greatly effects him.
ICE deports him.
Thanks in advance.

Well... Geno is an NFL veteran QB. Shedeure is a rookie that was snubbed by his own coach, denied TC reps and practice and maligned by almost everyone.... unfairly, IMO. I didn't say he was great, or even good. I said he did okay for the circumstances he was handed. His dad wasn't the beast everyone said he would be. The kid handled himself well when asked questions. He didn't bitch and moan about anything. He just said he needed to get better and keep learning. I don't know how that makes him a bad prospect/teammate/player. The rub against the kid is his dad, in the eyes of many..... and it just isn't justified, IMO.DanKD wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 5:08 pm He was worse than Geno and Aidan Oconnell did better with no first team reps his rookie season. 44 pff rating whick ranked him 42/43 pff ranking of qbs, 19 qbr 68 rating. Would have easily led the league in interceptions if played the whole season. There is no measure that supports what you are saying.

Doubt he throws at the combine, more than likely pro day but reality wise he doesn't really need to. Moore if he enters the draft would have more incentive to make a case that he should be number 1 but he probably would wait for his pro day also.Arsenal Raider wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 1:22 pm Haven't seen any tape yet of Mendoza throwing over 56 yards yet, but he has an absolute rifle arm up to at least 40 yards. Some of his throws are absolute missiles. Would be very interested to see him throw at the combine if he decides to (he certainly could skip it and nobody would bat an eye.) With that velocity, it seems he could throw 65+ if needed
By contrast, Moore throws a lot of intermediate floaters from what I've seen. To be fair, some excellent throws on tape.
I'm calling bullshit on the Moore is more mobile/better arm claims, seems like a bias for whatever reason. Could be wrong

I prefer Mendoza but Richardson and Moore are nothing alike. Richardson was an athlete and Moore is a pass first QB.CWood24 wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 2:25 am I keep hearing all this talk about Moore’s arm talent & mobility but if that was thing that made you successful then Anthony Richardson would be all pro instead of riding the bench
Football IQ always seems to take a backseat when discussing QB’s strength whereas arm strength tends to be out front & centre
I tend to agree with Joe Montana’s take on arm strength being an overrated trait in the NFL & that the likes of timing, accuracy & being able to read a defence is far more important in the pro’s
Mendoza has all the mental & technical traits you’d want in a franchise QB with the functional
mobility to make plays when need, i can’t see how we would pass on him unless your offering us a Ricky Williams / Herschel Walker-esqe haul which no team is going to do nowadays

I’m love how the media is acting like we only have Mendoza for one year.
Yeah we aren’t winning the division let alone SB next year. Let us take a guy that’s getting comparisons to a number of different franchise QBs, build a roster around him and see what happens over the next 5-10 years. Because isn’t that the whole point….
I didn’t see any of this nonsense with the titans when they took Ward, when jags took Lawrence or Cards took Murray.
Just some more raider hate

And I don’t see where people are getting this high ceiling from Moore from. The guys arm is average and he’s not particularly fast. The guys smooth as you’ll see throwing the ball and moving. I can see the CJ Stroud comparisons. But, it’s hard to know how much of the processing he’s doing and how much is the scheme helping him. Everyone looks like a good processor with that playcaller look at Gabriel last year. He’s definitely in the Mac Jones, Tua and Stroud bracket of comps. Very reliant on getting a good west coast playcaller if he wants to do anything special in the NFL

This is where I'm at. Mendoza is 6'5, 225, high IQ, athletic, great accuracy and good arm strenght, plus leadership, nerdy student of the game, that's prototype NFL QB stuff. His ceiling is hall of fame NFL QB.WolfRaider wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 7:38 pm And I don’t see where people are getting this high ceiling from Moore from. Any concerns about Mendoza playing out of the gun a lot?
Or have we seen enough QBs make the adjustment at this point?

The Raiders have earned every bit of mockery they continue to get. When you have a zipper clown that fires every GM and HC within a year and a half of each other over a decade, you are deservedly ridiculed and looked at with contempt. I do t blame the media one bit.WolfRaider wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 7:34 pm I’m love how the media is acting like we only have Mendoza for one year.

The way you stop the media hate is to build some sort of semblance of a stable organization that has goals and plans. Again the zipper clown has sustained this circus show

I wouldn’t be surprised if privately Mendoza works from coming out from under center knowing that’s what the NFL does alsoBe_Easy_25 wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 8:14 pm Any concerns about Mendoza playing out of the gun a lot?

One of the videos, I watched either him being interviewed or people talking about his interview mention that he uses the virtual reality system for quarterbacks to continually own his game

To be fair, Dennis Allen had 2+ full seasons? Del Rio had three. Gruden was in his fourth and had to resign due to the emails. Since Gruden it has been a shit show.Xramfan wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 8:18 pm The Raiders have earned every bit of mockery they continue to get. Yeah but he’s not doing 4 back flips and then throwing across his body to the opposite hash markings in the highlight reels. So clearly he’s not got a high ceiling. Because according to draft media that’s what a high ceiling is judging on Cam Ward and Caleb Williams.
On Caleb Williams, even though Bears are going really good he’s been the worse part. Still can’t play in structure at a level required.

Same guy had Spencer Rattler as QB1 over Williams, Maye, Daniels, Nix, McCarthy and Penix.
I’m 99% sure he was never a scout, and if he was the is a reason why he’s a former one.
His apparent claim to fame at the moment is he thought Sanders wouldn’t be a top 10 QB…. Like 90% of the people that have seen him play
