I guess it's always possible that Mendoza doesn't declare but it seems highly unlikely. The bigger risk is a major injury in a playoff game.

Maybe Brady has a chat or two with him. Nothing like talking to a QB of that caliber to influence your decision.

The double edge sword about Mendoza is if he's as smart as we think he is, he could very well go back to college instead of playing for the Raiders assuming we get #1 pick. I wouldn't completely rule it out.

And unless Brady puts 100% focus on our team, his presence is a non factor IMO.

I don't think Brady's presence is a non-factor at all, even with his current role. And if Mendoza is smart then he'll know that the team with the top pick in the draft is almost always a dumpster fire so the Raiders aren't really a worse choice than whoever has the pick next year (possibly the Raiders again).

8 million for Geno is 8 million too much. There's probably 30 players we could sign for league minimum who'd provide more value on the sideline and as backup than Geno (and not tell the entire fan base to get f[raiders_icon]cked).

I agree. Some like to talk in extremes. Brady isnt the savior nor is he a non factor.

Geno was a good backup previously for the Seahawks but nothing I saw this year indicated he is the right person to mentor a rookie qb.

Lol ok. If Brady was a factor, we wouldn't have settled for Pete Carroll as head coach. And I specifically said without his 100% focus on the team.

Is it us talking in extremes or some of you living in fantasy land?

I don’t think we’re as big a dumpster fire than people talk about as we have some PREMIUM talent at skill positions that most QB’s would love to have

Get a QB & fix the OL is the job this offseason you do that & there is real chance offence starts cooking

We have a bunch talent but it need direction to start paying dividends

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

Haha we started the same thread. Guess we're all happy to finally get the chance to draft a franchise QB.
