That's the first thing you've said that makes any sense at all. And you are trying to use AI as a litmus test. My initial comment was simply an opinion and not about anything factual or something that "cannot be proven or disproven"...your inability or unwillingness grasp this simple point is not my problem.Willmark wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 6:09 pm Because I don't bet on anything ever, outside of a few times with Attyla's bets here.
And where did I say it was "end all or a substitute for factual events". 1. I didn't say that, you did. 2. We are dealing with hypothetical not factual events.

Would you put your life savings on the 2025 Raiders at -24 over the 2001 Hurricanes? Honest question.Willmark wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 6:10 pm So what percentages did you get when you ran the same query I did of 2001 Hurricanes vs. 2025 Raiders?

2006 vs 2025 Raiders?
My vote would be the 2006 team. No f[raiders_icon]cking way Al allows his wack job son get the better of him.
edit: my apologies, I did not see this topic being discussed in the other thread.

We're talking hypothetically I thought?
So...hypothetically, would you?

Even in a hypothetical bet? Doubt it. My reasons for not betting are so ingrained that its hard for me to even speculate; strange I know, but it is what it is.BoKnows81 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 6:40 pm We're talking hypothetically I thought?

I also ran it against the 2019 LSU (which can be argued as the single greatest college team of all time) and the Raiders still are favored at 91% with a mean of 20.
Point being there is still some variation, but in general it doesn't drop to less than a pro team wins 9 out of 10 times.
And I get what you are trying to ask.
My point is simple, every year this pops up about how "the worst NFL team would lose to the best college team." The reality is that sure the college might pull of a win here or there but on the whole? Even the very worst NFL teams are still comprised of guys who actually made it to the NFL. Even the most stacked college teams? In most every case there are players that never make it or some that don't excel at the next level.
Take the Miami example. As bad as Geno Smith is, were comparing him to the college version of Dorsey. This is just one of the factors.

You know, I'm starting to think you don't even remember what the "point" is/was. What exactly is the point or is it your point? I stated my opinion and you countered with something based on projections?Willmark wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 6:37 pm There is a lot of "unwillingness grasp this simple point" going on and hint its you.
How compelling.

That team had 17 future first round picks.
No amount of argument can convince me this 2025 Raiders could compete with that team.
1) The only way for a college football team to beat an NFL team is to take the F out of way.
2) Out of 22 starters, 17 would go on to be first round picks. That's great, but they can't play every snap. How many subs were future NFL players. Even if they did play every snap, the conditioning of an NFL player is superior to that of a collegiate player. I mean, that's one of the biggest changes from the college to the pro level is the speed of the game. NFL players are faster and stronger.
3) The players you mentioned on the Hurricanes' team, at the time they were in college, were not the same player they became in the NFL: they still had lots of growing and maturing to do as professional athletes.
4) The roster of the worst NFL team is full of the best college players. 52 of the players on the team would, and did, make an NFL roster. Can't say the same of even the best college team.
5) It ain't happenin'. There is no way that a college team, no matter how good, would ever compete with the worst NFL team.
6) Knibb High Football rules!!

76 Bucs vs 01 Hurricanes. Someone run that scenario 100 times. I personally think it could happen but only because anything in sports is possible once imo. I’d expect the NFL team to win 99% of the time no matter the teams involved.

Raiders did beat the Pats, lost to playoff teams Bears by 1, Jags by 1, Broncos by 3 and Texans by 3. I’m in the Raiders, and Giant and Browns, beat Miami easily group.

You guys are too funny… I had the same conversation with my mom when I was about 7yo, first the conversation was the Harlem globe trotters vs the best NBA team, she quickly shot that down. Then it went from there to HGT vs the worst team in the NBA….. Obviously in the end, the HGT wouldn’t have much of a shot (there is always a punchers chance), I think the odds of a collage BB team beating an NBA team would be much higher an NFL, as there are less players, and at anytime you can have either a hot streak or go cold with putting the ball in the rim…
The NFL is to physical, one weak link and the NFL team would exploit that on every play (especially o-line or in the secondary).
Now, back to your regular scheduled programing!

I agree with ya on the NB thing..very possible..like Jordan’s Tar Heels..several NBA guys..they come right in and can dominate. NFL is a different animal. Those shitty Lions teams or 70’s Bucs would smoke Indiana if we are talking recentRaider Nation wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 11:03 pm You guys are too funny… I had the same conversation with my mom when I was about 7yo, first the conversation was the Harlem globe trotters vs the best NBA team, she quickly shot that down.
