For sure, but I find comps can almost never capture how a qb processes the game/the type of competitor said qb is which is the most important factor to me. Alot of what I see when comps are being made indirectly suggest they're making a perfect 1 to 1 comp.Attyla wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 3:19 pm comparison is never going to be accurate but it still has value from style of play perspectives

Good argument.RaiderFan1 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 11:29 am Dont you think in the Giants situation they have a reason to want to win, compete and put out full effort for their developing rookie QB ? their QB is deveoping and has gotten better over the latter part of this season. It appears they believe Dart is their future at QB. A team doesnt want to Fvkc that up just for better draft pick. Tanking for the first overall pick when you already have your believed young QB of the future seems like something an NFL team wouldnt strategize to do. You want to see your QB continue to develope and show hes moving forward. I mean if you already decided that Dart wasn't your future, then yes I believe they could possibly tank for the draft position. But for these professional players/teamates, I would think that they would want to play hard for their developing QB, for their future next year and beyond. What is your exact reasoning to counter this view above ?

The counter argument would be... They are this close to the #1 or #2 pick. They don't need a QB, but the trade value of those top picks has to be appealing to them.RaiderFan1 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 11:29 am Dont you think in the Giants situation they have a reason to want to win, compete and put out full effort for their developing rookie QB ? their QB is deveoping and has gotten better over the latter part of this season. The entire tank talk is silly though. Fans want to tank. No player wants to tank. Practically all of them are super competitive and are going to try to win the game.
Front offices may want to tank. Shutting down players is a way to tank. Our front office may be trying to tank, but the players will play to win, no matter who we suit up.

Hmmm...it appears that one exaggeration deserves another. It was just another comparison/opinion of just how bad people, myself included, think the Raiders are.
So for all the points I made in a post the only thing worthy of a response was something that cannot be proven or disproven and has been echoed multiple posts by other posters in the last few weeks without being called out?...interesting.

Wasn’t burrow throwing to 3 NFL wide receivers? Every qb needs protection and a good system to make it work.raidersince63 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:35 am But I have to wonder just how much of Fernando's success is based on his raw talent alone, and how much is a biproduct of his Coach and team mates. (I know it's a combination) Either way, even if the Raiders weren't "tanking", I don't believe they could beat Indiana. The Hooziers may or may not win it all but in my mind they are the most well balanced team I've watch this year.
What we’ve learned is he can make every throw on the field. Has touch, accuracy and enough mobility. If we can protect him he won’t lose games and will put his body on the line to win.

Yeah, and as someone else pointed out after yesterday's game, he's a bit faster than I realized he was and has good pocket presence too. He turned multiple potential sacks into gains and first downs. And yes, his receivers are pretty darn good too.Raidernation1979 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 12:54 pm Wasn’t burrow throwing to 3 NFL wide receivers? Love his arm and unlike some NFL QBs, he has enough smarts to know when to fire the ball on a line and when to throw it with a softer touch.
Indiana seems to be loaded with a lot of smart players with solid character.

Since 2000 we have drafted one QB in the first round. The Jets have drafted four, Cleveland Browns five.Rabidraider wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 9:51 am We haven't had many top QB draft picks. Jets go through them every other year. But point taken.
Not trying to be Captain Obvious but was curious and looked it up.

We certainly are. The best we have done in that regard was Roman Gabriel in 1962 and he went to the NFL instead.
