CAL keeps getting top QB's for some reason.

Great thing is you can fly through a game pretty quick if you cut away the defensive series and all the stand around and wait stuff. But I wanted to really focus on the big stage game. He had a rather blah game vs Ohio State so going up against Alabama in the biggest game of his career was going to be telling. And another take away from Mendoza is that he did what he did with a very powerful run game. He delivered what he was asked to do with three very sharp TD's. He was accurate and he adjusted to the pass rush after his first series. And he played within the system. Indiana is a clock management system and they actually tend to slow things down. So you are not going to get a lot of flash. Watch the Penn St game if you want to see him really kill it. If there is a game on his resume that made him what he is today, that was it.
Oh yeah that Penn St game put him above Moore for me. He led a killer drive to win that

Some talking heads mentioned that Moore should stay in school to fine tune his craft, make some NIL money and to stay away from the QB killing Jets....lol

I'm not sure the Raiders are any better in that respect. :grimmace:

80 yards and a very decisive TD. And yes, for the one who says he interviews really well, that is a part of it. Maturity is hard to get at his age and he does display a lot of that and you can see it in his interviews. The thing is, there are no perfect QBs out there. And he is no exception. We saw him take several bad sacks. We saw him throw one that got his guy clobbered forcing a field goal instead of six. We saw a really awkward run by the guy. We also saw a really good run. We saw some dimes from the guy. And we saw his professionalism.

Some things you can fix. Pocket awareness can improve with experience and coaching. Throwing a pass that gets your guy laid out? That is just going to happen every once in a while. But it is always a process.

Mendoza with the right staff and a fixed line? Never a guarantee but I like our chances

I can't get excited until the Raiders complete the tank. I have a bad feeling against the Chiefs that AOC may get into the game and he's kind of responsible for dropping us down the last few draft orders with meaningless wins.

We haven't had many top QB draft picks. Jets go through them every other year. But point taken.

Someone mentioned Andy could lose this game, improve his draft rank, add a pick to move up a little and get the best defensive player in the 26 draft.

I think his last win against KC was more on the defense. Didn't he not complete a pass in the 2nd half of the game? Or some godawful incompletion streak

The most they could move up with a loss would be one spot, and they would need New Orleans to win to do that. With a win, they may not even move spots, they would need Browns to win and then they'd move up one spot with a loss combined with a Cleveland win. KC has very little draft stock on the line with either win or loss. We only would move one slot, and depending on the NYG-Dal game, may not effect our first round pick at all. Not enough to effect the outcome of this game, I think Andy cares more about his personal win-loss stats at this point and would like the win. That's my hope at least.

On the flip side, the Giants Cowboys has a lot of draft stock. Giants could move down to 7 with a win, Dallas having a tie, could move up or down quite a few spots with a win or loss.

Hell yeah give up the cash. You need to do that to get the best coaches. He's a guy a lot of teams will be looking at in the near future. Hes a great leader of men. Maybe some how throw a bone to Indiana. Whats the typical language in college coaches contracts about leaving for an NFL job ?

He signed a 9 mil contract w/ Indiana , so offer him $15 mil, and the 1st overall pick in the draft is very enticing , especially if he loves Mendoza.

Fat Andy makes 20 mil per year, and Jim Harbaugh gets 16 mil in his recent contract.

And a KC loss would most likely mean they wouldn't have to deal with Mendoza for the next decade. I wont relax till we are guaranteed to get Mendoza.
