Everyone should have a pretty good idea where The Raiders' O-Line stands before the draft.

Well let's hope we don't bring in another grossly overpaid Cappa to solve the problem.RickRyb wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 5:14 pm Everyone should have a pretty good idea where The Raiders' O-Line stands before the draft.

You would think, but it's shocking how the last 3 coaching staffs didn't recognize the lack of talent we had on the O Line.RickRyb wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 5:14 pm Everyone should have a pretty good idea where The Raiders' O-Line stands before the draft.

You’re not crazy. The exact same thought crossed my mind at least twice today lolBoKnows81 wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 4:56 pm Just a thought. Remember when the Raiders drafted the wrong Byron Young? Let's hope they draft the right Mendoza this time.
Half kidding.

If we secure the 1st overall, wouldn't it be typical Raider fashion that Mendoza opts to return to school

Contact CorleoneSometimes teams get the #1 draft pick and there's no real consensus #1 player, or for a QB needy team, maybe someone worthy of being drafted, but not a sure thing (for example Cam Ward last year with the Titans, or Tavon Walker, Bryce Young etc).
Other times, there's a franchise player and a big drop off after that (Joe Burrow, Andrew Luck). Trevor Lawrence and Caleb Williams would qualify in that category, so obviously no guarantee that player becomes as projected (though both players look to be coming around to what we thought they would be).
This year sure feels like the latter and not the former.
Mendoza feels like an elite prospect, definitely on the level of top QB's in other good years, and it would be a huge let down to miss out on the #1 pick. We must secure the loss on Sunday, or hope the Giants win. Anything less than #1 would be devastating.

I do think people are underestimating how terrible Petes son is. The ol would not have been good but hes made every single player worsercraider wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 5:24 pm You would think, but it's shocking how the last 3 coaching staffs didn't recognize the lack of talent we had on the O Line.

I have no clue why people don’t think Mendoza is an elite prospect.Corleone wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 5:26 pm Sometimes teams get the #1 draft pick and there's no real consensus #1 player, or for a QB needy team, maybe someone worthy of being drafted, but not a sure thing (for example Cam Ward last year with the Titans, or Tavon Walker, Bryce Young etc).

To think that there are people that believe Mendoza is not better than any of last years QBs is mind boggling. I think tonight changed their minds.

No doubt I would take him, Moore or Simpson over Ward lolBoKnows81 wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 5:36 pm To think that there are people that believe Mendoza is not better than any of last years QBs is mind boggling. I think tonight changed their minds.

Mendoza will definitely be the first pick in the draft. We just need to make sure that it is us taking him and not the Jets.

Ward is so garbage. You wanna talk about a guy who wasn't worth the #1 pick... that's him.
