Fire Pete Carroll
I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

My hatred for Brady is completely rational when he fudged up our QB, HC, OC & only hired his buddies for jobs. He’s only here part time, the coward POS won’t even do an interview on the Raiders & much like Mark he won’t answer tough questions. Even Ziegler, Telesco, Mayock, McKenzie met with the media during the season. Granted they were BS excuses for some of them.Attyla wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 10:48 am No, I say he is a voice in the room. Nobody with direct knowledge says Brady is making decisions
But more importantly, you keep making up shit because for some fcking reason you have this irrational hatred for Brady.
Now again, back to the thing you keep dodging, what has Spytek done that warrants a firing in one year?
What one thing have I made up? I’ve provided you quotes of Mark telling he wants Brady in charge, he wants us picking our QB. We’ve got morons on this page bragging how Brady wanted Ben Johnson as if that’s some special talent to want the most desirable HC candidate last year. Even WiFi Willie posted a video this week of Mark saying on camera THE EXACT things I’m reporting & yet you sit here & act like “where’s the proof?”
Spytek has sat over one of the worst teams in NFL history. The backup offense of our last opponent had more yards on one drive than out 1st team did all game. His free agent signings were the worst starting guard in the NFL a year ago & Devin White. You know a LB that quits on the field & gets his ass chewed out by Maxx. What was Spytek’s PR crap at his press conference? “Gonna get guys that LOVE football & do it the right way”. All he’s done is more “my guy” bull crap.
And it’s laughable you’re comparing a prospect like Jeanty to Bowers. One has elite skills while the other is a Josh Jacobs/Marshawn Lynch player. I said draft day we should take Membou cuz Jeanty was not a Bijay or Barkley type player. And since Membou plays a PREMIUM position we should take him. Everyone had concerns about this OL last year & now it’s even worse. This crap is why we lose. We don’t stack good drafts on top of each other. And going by Telesco’s history, Telesco is building that OL first like a sane GM.
Now having said all that, I don’t know if I’d fired Spytek if I was owner but I’d make him re-interview with me & show me he’s not a Brady butt sniffer like you & Mark.
Then again, this draft will be huge & id rather have a Bill Polian protégé who has experience running drafts. Of course, I’d rather have Mark sell to competent owners & not hand over to a Vespa driving ex-jock who’s clearly in over his head.

I don't like the optics of firing another coach either. I'm hoping that Carroll can be convinced to step away because this is truly a rebuild job and that's not what he was after. He would likely get paid a pile of money to do that, so it's not like he'd be just walking away from a contract emptyhanded - we will never know the details of that.srv5490 wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 10:46 pm Honestly, this feels like a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenarios. The Raiders just aren't an appealing opportunity for top coaching prospects, and another quick firing isn't going to help that perception. I'm not sure who would even be interested in interviewing - especially with no QB, no OL, and very little in the way of enticement at any of the other positions.
I was pretty ambivalent about the PC hiring, and he hasn't done anything to impress this season. Still, I think we need to stick with him next season. Get a QB, start building a solid OL, and start bringing in better talent throughout the roster. If PC sucks again, the optics of firing him next year won't be nearly as bad, and we'd hopefully have a QB and some better pieces to entice in some better HC candidates.

Do you feel that it could be beneficial for Pete to move to the front office like he did in Seattle?chucker wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 6:03 am I don't like the optics of firing another coach either. That's certainly a vehicle for helping him save face and make it seem like he's really just stepping away. I don't know if it's beneficial to the organization.Toast wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 6:15 am Do you feel that it could be beneficial for Pete to move to the front office like he did in Seattle?

Staring at a 2-15 season, we are long past the optics of firing another coach. There isn't a single reason for bringing this coaching staff as it is today back for another kick at the can as the team under Carroll is worse than it ever was under McDaniels and Pierce. If those coaches were not good enough, what kind of message does it send that a guy that coached the team to maybe it's worst season ever is good enough to return? I imagine that he and the Raiders will work something out where he can go out with more dignity than being outright fired.chucker wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 6:03 am I don't like the optics of firing another coach either. Going back to optics, I believe with a first overall pick, the job should be enticine enough for a lot of candidates regardless of another one and done hire. The bar is ultra-low for the new head coach as he only needs to do better than an all-time terrible season to show improvement. Given all the holes on the roster and likely a rookie QB starting games, expectations should be for a 4-5 win season where they accumulate some more draft capital as it's going to take a few years to build a good team. This isn't like the Broncos situation where they had a top defense to prop up a rookie QB giving him time to find his way. This is more like the the Titans where they are still going to be bad and the rookie QB takes his lumps as he learns on the job. Expectations should be pretty modest.

I agree. I'd fire Carroll and deal with the optics if that's what it takes. Even having him step away, most people will assume that he was just fired in a nicer way. I don't think guys will look unfavorably at the job and choose not to take it because we fired a 74 year old coach who was hired to keep the team competitive only to have the team regress. The biggest factor in being an attractive destination is in what players the new coach has to work with and if we get the first overall pick then there's a QB and we have enough cap space to work with beyond that. Candidates will have plenty of interest.heavyD wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 6:34 am Staring at a 2-15 season, we are long past the optics of firing another coach. So you want a minority owner to do interviews? Why not Richard Seymour? Why not Tom Wagner? No, you just have an irrational hatred of Brady. And other than Spytek, who is a buddy of his that he brought in? What questions about the Raiders has Brady refused to answer, be specific. And then you mention GMs who did interviews. Our GM does interviews as well. And while we are on the subject of your completely derailed rant, did you demand the Groh family do interviews when they owned a minority share? You are completely just dug in on Brady, and blame a minority owner for all of this stuff. He has a job. Owning a minority share does not empower him to run the team. That is Davis's full time job.Sloth_Fratelli wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 5:26 am My hatred for Brady is completely rational when he fudged up our QB, HC, OC & only hired his buddies for jobs. So Davis wants Brady involved. That does not mean decision maker. A voice in the room. Involved and running are not the same thing. Jesus, you think a guy who is not even in the building 99% of the time is running things? Give me a f[raiders_icon]cking break. This is all true. One year in, we are a disaster. And yep, we took a step back. But how many pieces are from previous regimes, all of whom also failed? Spytek inherited players from 4 different systems and he was supposed to do what? Playoffs? 7 Wins? Well, that did not happen. So now you want to run the guy out of town after one year so the next GM has guys from 5 different systems. Genius.Spytek has sat over one of the worst teams in NFL history. Yep you are a football savant. But Jeanty was widely praised as the pick. Just like Bowers. That is the comparison. Your insults aside, that happens in corporate America. Top execs do end of year meetings to evaluate what went right, what went wrong and where they go from there. Well Davis is not selling. And what does a Vespa have to do with anything? You are too keyed up with emotion. You blame everything on Brady. You did a good job of dissecting his rant, the only thing I would add, since he wanted quotes by everyone is this. Spytek himself said that he & Brady had minimal contact since college and never had any real contact until Tom went to Tampa. Tom was a senior and Spytek was a freshman so I doubt they were anything more than college teammates. The whole buddy thing is a complete false narrative that people just ran with for some reasonAttyla wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 7:01 am So you want a minority owner to do interviews? Yikes. That is not an impressive list. Most of the guys on that list that are already in the NFL are defensive coordinators, and the OCs have had mediocre success. Same with the college coaches.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 1:36 pm This.

Also, fck you Mark, malignant fcking festering goiter.
Pete may be kept on simply due to the lack of options. I could easily see any one of those guys absolutely bombing and there doesn't appear to be a QB guru anywhere.

Part of The Raiders future successes will be based on getting a Head Coach and letting him have input regarding the new QB. If Carroll continues with the team and selects "his" QB then in the future years The Raiders will have a new coach and the narrative that "so and so" was not his guy. The Raiders have a chance to get a very high prospect. Clean house (yes, again) and move forward as a team. In all this keep Spytek and let him lead the way.

Pete has had less 1.SuperRaider wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 1:19 am I understand the part about staying with HC if he was much younger because 1 year is not really much time with a team; but we should be seeing improvement on the field by now and we are not….
