Fire Pete Carroll
I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

Two coaches in the past 10 years managed to build playoff teams but were fired before they could build winning playoff teams.heavyD wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 8:38 am Mark did things right when he first took over hiring a GM first but since Allen got fired, he’s treated the GM position like an afterthought as he’s hired coach first in all successive hires. It’s why the Raiders have fared so poorly via the draft as the head coaches have had far too much say in the decision making. Most normal organizations give their GM’s two coach hires before they land on the hot seat but with Davis hiring the head coaches first, the GM ends up following them out the door and every draft lacks cohesive vision with new GM’s year after year.
It’s really not that hard to understand why this organization cannot get better. It’s because Mark Davis has done things the wrong way and continues to do things the wrong way. He used to say earlier in ownership “I don’t know what I don’t know” but clearly he doesn’t practice what he preaches because he keeps hiring the coaches himself when he is not qualified to hire coaches.
I know Gruden cat canned but it doesn't change the fact that bowlcut keeps firing coaches within
1-2 years.
How can anyone build a team?
Say what you want gents but every time a staff gets fired its a rebuild in some way, shape or form.
Sh*t, they gotta rebuild the staff.

True...... but, do you want to do this again next season??? Sooner or later, the law of averages says we will hit on the right guy. I might be dead, but............................KillerRaider30 wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 1:55 pm Two coaches in the past 10 years managed to build playoff teams but were fired before they could build winning playoff teams.

Listen, if all the reports were true on Brady leading the charge to get Stafford and Johnson as HC then in my opinion I don’t think this season would have been a sh!tshow!
I’m not saying Brady is the answer, I’m just saying
Far as the GM, the jury is still out
All I can say about the GM is, if I was offered the GM job but had no control, I’d tell in this case Davis, “ shove the job up your ass”!

The root problem remains and that is not hiring the right coaches and staff to begin with. And with regards to the current situation hiring a 74 year old coach was not looking toward the future. There is not one positive you can take from this season and even if they keep Pete you are still most likely going to replace most of the coachesKillerRaider30 wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 1:55 pm Two coaches in the past 10 years managed to build playoff teams but were fired before they could build winning playoff teams.

Why is a a minority owner have anything to say about the direction of this franchise?
Isn't the minority owner offering the cash only?
And if the reports are true...hasn't it been proven the great Brady hasn't proven he has no sway?

Your “reports” are speculation and opinions but none of us have any clue how much pull Brady has or doesn’t have.
If he wanted Johnson and Stafford, I wish he had more pull.

It's been in every report.... brady is interjecting his opinion on how/what/who should be in this organization.
Wasn't that the chatter from all you. The great and powerful OZ will transform this sad organization?

TB has only been associated with the Raiders for a short period of time and he only lends his opinion. Dofus still has his hands on the levers. Therein lies the problem. I really do not see any short cuts.Sold My Soul wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 9:49 pm It's been in every report.... brady is interjecting his opinion on how/what/who should be in this organization.

If this is truly the case (which many suspect it to be), there’s just no question of what needs to be done. As much as I despise the idea of more and more turnover, the head coach and GM simply have to be lockstep. A non-negotiable, IMO.

I would rather have Brady.

Honestly, this feels like a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenarios. The Raiders just aren't an appealing opportunity for top coaching prospects, and another quick firing isn't going to help that perception. I'm not sure who would even be interested in interviewing - especially with no QB, no OL, and very little in the way of enticement at any of the other positions.
I was pretty ambivalent about the PC hiring, and he hasn't done anything to impress this season. Still, I think we need to stick with him next season. Get a QB, start building a solid OL, and start bringing in better talent throughout the roster. If PC sucks again, the optics of firing him next year won't be nearly as bad, and we'd hopefully have a QB and some better pieces to entice in some better HC candidates.

I understand the part about staying with HC if he was much younger because 1 year is not really much time with a team; but we should be seeing improvement on the field by now and we are not….

I could see this but an argument could be made that Spy was actually looking to the future beyond this year knowing we had little chance of being competitive. If that’s the case, I don’t get the PC hire. Maybe to bring some stability in as he’s had some success in the past. It’s more than obvious he’s past his expiration date.srv5490 wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 10:46 pm Honestly, this feels like a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenarios. On the other side, I think it’s appealing simply because we have the ability to get our guy at Qb, depending how the last 3 play out. Not much hope there as Giants probably beat us with a Qb that’s already better than anyone we have currently on our roster. Throw in all the draft capital as well as cap space and if properly managed, it’s a decent start. It needs to be known it will take multiple years and ownership is on board with that.
At that point, you hand the keys over and Davis literally doesn’t step foot in the building, gives everyone permission to ignore him if he does and everyone changes their phone number. Put it in the contract that is offered for 5 years.
Problem with Davis is I don’t think he can do it. He probably tries to make it look like it for all to see but he has his fingers in it all.
Its hard to wake a man pretending to be asleep.

I totally missed this a few days ago. But if you skip to the 11 minute mark Jack del rio talks about Pete and the raiders. Hint. Also throws in a joke that maybe he should coach the raiders again
