Fire Pete Carroll

Unread post by RenoRaiders75 »

I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

That TE is a HOF player, he did the smart thing & went talent instead of lesser need. It’s ok when you do that but you don’t take a solid RB over a solid Tackle like they did last year.
Funny when JPJ got moved to Center he graded out in the top 1/2 his rookie year. Even Glaze played better last season. Of course, Brady gave us a HC & forced his OC on his OC on him, whose talent evaluation skills tells him that Alex Cappa & Jordan Meredith are better OL than JPj.

BTW, how do you get worse than Luke Getsy? Cuz Brady found a way.

Telesco also gave us a HC the players didn’t quit on & we know that D Jones was at least on Telesco’s radar. Brady won’t even consider guys like Darnold.

I’m glad to see you believe GM/front office staff can be judged & fired after a single season.

You should have no issue wanting a part time executive like Brady removed from all football decisions, especially when he has zero experience & has proven he’s worse than Telesco.

That’s fair right? I mean you’d have to be a Brady butt sniffer, like Mark, to think he’s the guy to turn things around when all he does is fail

PC is obviously delusional...I read that when asked if he felt his job was in danger, Pete said "No".

He's not in danger as Pete will retire at the end of the year. The Raiders will give him a nice bye out and then be on the hunt for a new coach.

So let's see, Telesco got Bowers, which was the biggest no brainer in that entire draft. Spytek took the best RB in the draft and the consensus best player available when we picked
Telesco did not give us a HC, that was Davis because Pierce was hired before Telesco
Telesco did not move Powers Johnson, that was Pierce and he graded out high pass blocking but not run blocking
Brady did not hire anyone. Carroll picked his coordinators.
You don't know what I believe regarding judging anyone. I look at each situation based on circumstances, not a blanket view.
Brady is not in charge, he is a minority owner with a voice in the room. And actually, this season, he has been far removed from the team
Brady spent almost no time at the facility during the off season as well.

You have a lot of hatred for a guy who is not around much, and is not in charge of anything.

So again, what did Telesco do honestly? You answered that question by telling me a bunch of shit that everyone but Telesco did.

Hmmm...does that mean they should give his Son a nice bye too?

Should have kept Telesco and let him build a team.

Should now keep Spytek and let him build a team (select and recruit new coach).

Hopefully Pete retires gracefully.

Not sure why his Son gets fired but Pete gets a pass, so to speak.

With so many big name schools looking for new coaches, the pickings might be a bit slim.

I feel like anyone who has coached here or played here the past 23 years feels the same way.

No fan feels any different. It is an absolute shit show, and for that he has to go. When he does his PCs he has no valuable answers. And nothing changes. Bye Pete!

I give Telesco more credit for the bowers pick. Taking a TE that high isn’t necessarily a popular pick (even if it was the most productive college TE of all time). Contextually, this was a year after picking Mayer early in the 2nd. Would argue it was a great pick for those reasons. I’d also say JPJ was a good value pick and when healthy and not in Pete’s dog house - looks like a good player.

Not saying Telesco was some superstar but I don’t think he deserved to be fired.

In comparison, I think Spytech is more deserving of a quick firing than Telesco imo. I love Jeanty, loved the pick (and still do)… but bech was a questionable pick at the time and hasn’t done anything. The rest you don’t expect much from but even on a team so devoid of talent that there’s no reason not to give all your rookies reps… half these guys still can’t get on the field and struggle to make any impact when they do.

The bigger issue I have with Spytech was his free agency. Opted not to bring back anyone on defence and instead went the bargain bin route. And yet with all the cap room available (partially a result of letting our D walk)… we didn’t address an o-line (or WR core) that was clearly going to be a problem (again).

Instead we basically spent most of our cap front loading deals for Geno and Maxx. In a lot of ways - the results we’ve seen are a feature of last offseason, not a bug. I’m willing to concede that maybe there’s a master plan here: tank your first season and go into your 2nd offseason with a boatload of cap and a high pick you can use on a QB. I’m also willing to concede that even if that’s the plan… you couldn’t go into this season advertising it.

Something just feels like everyone involved is genuinely surprised at the results though. Which kind of undermines the “chess not checkers” plan we can only hope is taking place

Not sure what to think about Spytech, nobody knows how much power he wields, is he calling the shots ? is Brady ? is it Pete ?

Could be Spytech sees this roster for what it is - a rebuild so he knew it wasn't worth throwing free agent money at this year.
We know Pete over estimated the talent level and thought he could win.

Or Spytech is just another GM just in name, much like Mayock with no powers.
