Fire Pete Carroll
I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

O'Connell may be the best to mentor. He's not athletic, but I think he has the smarts and the understanding of the game. Otherwise The Raiders will need to pick up a veteran that can fill in but basically just wants the money.

How have we done since? Gotten worst because the fundamental issues of the franchisee are still there.
Other QBs like Joe Burrow are having similar issues for similar reasons.
At any rate the Raiders have a lot of issues that it will take 2-3 years to be competitive again.
That’s assume Bowlcut doesn’t fowl things up again.
Now should Pete be fired? I don’t know. I think it would be in everyone’s best interest if he resigned.

Well the dysfunction runs deep in this organization and yes changing coaches and Gms is obviously detrimental but the underlying problem is making the wrong hires in the first place. Now keeping Carroll for the sake of not wanting to change coaches isn't going to be the answer.
This team needs a rebuild and a 74 year old coach soon to be 75 is not who you want to build it. They need a young hungry staff with a fresh modern outlook, than stick with that staff, but you have to make the right hires and there needs to be a chain of command. GM hires coach, coach hires their staff. Ownership stays out of it.

I don’t know why we treat Spytek differently. He’s here on a Tom Brady nepotism scholarship. The talent level of this team is possibly the lowest it has ever been. I don’t think Spytek has done anything to justify a 2nd year as GM. And if people give the lame excuse that these are Pete’s players, then that’s twice as damning for Spytek to allow the HC to bring in a bunch of losers. Lastly, if someone argues, well what about Jeanty? My answer is that taking a running back that high in the draft when both your Oline and Dline are garbage, is incompetent. Sorry, but Inthink Spytek needs to walk the plank with Pete.Attyla wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 6:10 am No, Spytek better fire everyone immediately after the last game of the year.

Spytek should not be judged by one seasons worth of player acquisitions or by the results on the field with a head coach he did not hire.RaiderLifer wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 4:48 am I don’t know why we treat Spytek differently. It takes years to build a roster. He inherited a mess.

He was highly regarded among NFL types. You assume he is on a Tom Brady nepotism scholarship but that is not accurate. At every stop he has done well, being heavily involved in building two super bowl teams. He was given a bare shelf when he arrived to Vegas. Yes, Brady and he go way back but he did not ride Brady's coattail to get where he has gotten to today. Yes, he drafted Jeanty over a lineman but he also drafted several linemen as well in the later rounds. Carroll not developing those guys is on Carroll.RaiderLifer wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 4:48 am I don’t know why we treat Spytek differently. He’s here on a Tom Brady nepotism scholarship. But more to my point, we need to allow the right guys to do the right job. Davis doing all the hiring and firing needs to stop. Your GM makes the coaching decisions, not your owner. If the GM is to be fired, the Team President is the person who makes that decision, not the owner. We need to stop overstepping and use the chain of command properly.

I would let Spytek be involved with the next hiring of next raiders HC; also he should be on three year contract right now…
Seriously would give Pete another year as HC if he was younger; he just too old to be NFL head coach…..

I hate the idea of firing another head coach, but it's clear that a 74 year old isn't right for the timeline of this rebuild. Hopefully Carroll just steps aside so there doesn't need to be a firing, but we still get to move on.

Who would have thought the best coach we’ve had this decade was Rich Bisaccia?

In a perfect world, Spytec would be the man tasked with hiring the next head coach. He’s far more qualified than Davis or Brady. Davis needs to sit on his hands and let his GM hire the coaches.SuperRaider wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 7:22 am I would let Spytek be involved with the next hiring of next raiders HC; also he should be on three year contract right now…

So did Telesco & Brady fired him. Not saying Spytek should be gone but even Telesco did more in 1 yearToast wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 4:52 am Spytek should not be judged by one seasons worth of player acquisitions or by the results on the field with a head coach he did not hire.

That’s what happens when your owner thinks he’s a genius. Mark brings in those 2 morons & Brady did the same here.Viper wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 7:52 am Who would have thought the best coach we’ve had this decade was Rich Bisaccia?

What did Telesco do? He drafted a no brainer at TE and got us a lineman who cannot stay on the field.Sloth_Fratelli wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 9:28 am So did Telesco & Brady fired him. Not saying Spytek should be gone but even Telesco did more in 1 year

He signed Wilkins which Spytec has been tasked with dealing with the fallout of another Raiders big free agent signing that bombed.Attyla wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 9:34 am What did Telesco do? He drafted a no brainer at TE and got us a lineman who cannot stay on the field.
