Fire Pete Carroll

Unread post by RenoRaiders75 »

I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

Those saying give Spytek the absolute say in everything regarding personnel and coaches, my question is:

What the hell has Spy done to earn that trust? I don't and I think most people don't know who really called the shots for the 2025 draft and FA personnel but the 2025 draft so far has sucked ass. Never should have taken Jeannty or any RB with the 6th pick. Raiders needed and still need OL first and alot of it.

So we'll all see what happens but I won't be expecting too much until I see Spytek actually do something, a lot of somethings to improve this club. So far he's just an ex-football players buddy and most explayers are shit at running teams front office

If they don't trust him then why hire him in the first place? And if it is simply to be a puppet GM then the front office above him can point the finger directly at themselves for this shitshow...

Find a legit GM,let him hire the HC and go from there but FFS stay out of his way and let him do his job...That or give the keys to Spytek and let him see if he is the answer as a rookie GM.One or the other but again Ownership should stay out of the GM duties :paperbag:

He's the GM so clearly he's done enough in his career to earn trust of ownership and he was instrumental in building the Bucs Super Bowl winning team so he's light years ahead of Mayock. I will give him an A for free agency alone as he didn't waste any money or cap space on this season. He let himself get a year under his belt with the roster to truly see what he has and now he truly knows what players to run back with and what positions need upgrading. It's hard to say much about his first draft because Pete didn't want to play rookies. We need to see what the guy can do with Carroll and his Seahawks coaches/players out of the picture.

I am not even sure that trust is a factor. The job is about making personnel decisions. That is the job, so when you get that job, that is what you are doing, making those kinds of decisions. It is why I hated Gruden getting control. It is why I hated Davis overstepping guys to make hires. You get the GM job, let them do the damn job.

I want Spytek to stay but I'm still lost over the Cappa signing. Not so much that we added him, because I don't mind veterans in a position group to compete for jobs, but who the f[raiders_icon]ck did we think we were competing with for his "services" when we paid him that much?

I can personally say Pete needs to go with conviction as after over 20 years of coaching I was recently replaced for a younger version of myself. Sucks I couldn’t see it myself - fukn pride. Hopefully we have someone in the building to do the same for Pete.

Hence the name change? Sorry you lost your gig. Any chance of hooking onto another school?

Were there any positives from spytecs first offseason? We let good players walk and replaced them with 1 year bums. We didn’t address the o-line. We traded for and extended Geno.

And early returns on the current rookie class looks like a total flop.

The whole we let them walk narrative has always been kind of false to me. No one knows what or if an offer to a player was made. Agents will leak shit to make their clients look like the good guy. Also the player might just not want to be a part of the organization. Can't force a player to be a Raider after their rookie contract is up

Flop?
Jeanty seems solid can’t tell if he was worth the pick with this offense. To me the answer is always no as a RB shouldn’t be taken that high.

Bech is positive in his limited usage.

Rogers has been our best offensive or 2nd best and played well.

Thornton is what he was a development guy.

What if it was Pete's draft (which it was)
