I am not trying to be flippant but he isn't too short if Simpson doesn't declare I like Mendoza better anyways. I know you like O'Connell but I do not understand how you can continue to defend him despite his flaws and then discredit a player like Simpson based on one metric. Am I missing something?mranquales wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 2:50 pm Ty Simpson is staying in college. It's fine because he was too short anyway.

I like Simpson but I think I like Mendoza as my guy. Excellent coaching this year and i love his size. He is my numero uno.
Wonder where Allar goes after he destroys the combine.

We have a better measurement of potential when it comes to O'Connell. O'Connell came to the worst team in the NFL, was thrown into the starting role because of injuries, and had us one game out of the playoffs-- as a rookie to boot. He earned his chance to start for a full year to see what he could do and was never given that chance.Toast wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 4:25 pm I am not trying to be flippant but he isn't too short but if Simpson doesn't declare I like Mendoza better anyways. He played with so much poise that he made Raider fans believe that we were a playoff team being held back by our QB. In reality, we were the worst team in the NFL being held together by our QB. The Raiders have yet to win more than 2 games in a season without O'Connell. That's a fact.
We have to get Mendoza. He's the only QB worth picking in the first. If not, I'd rather have Jordyn Tyson, #1 WR talent that can get open every down. So good he can open things up for Bowers and even create more space for Jeanty to work with underneath. We can get Tylen Green or Drew Allar later on in the draft.HesterLayes wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 4:58 pm I like Simpson but I think I like Mendoza as my guy. Never underestimate a great WR's ability to make a bad QB look good (Geno Smith in Seattle).

Finish at least at two and will have to bid a little against other teams for moving up…but we’d have the best option for titans to just drop one spot and get who they want.pricey, but worth it

I saw some of the Alabama game today and was not overly impressed with Simpson. He did play better in the 2nd half, but he looks slow afoot. On the other hand, Mendoza was damn good in the game vs a tough defense. Nice touch downfield and tough dude.

Simpson still has potential but he is not as pro ready (which makes sense since this is his first year starting).

Every time i watch Sawyer Robertson i come away impressed at the moment i’m seeing early day 3 projections
Wouldn’t mind taking a flyer on him even just as a developmental backup if we do get a top QB but especially if we don't have a shot at Mendoza
He is a big kid with a great arm & legs to get on the move he does have some work to do, Robertson to me is what Drew Allar is supposed to be.
I’d love to draft a couple of young QB’s this year & have them battle it out through camp making it a best man wins

Hmm that quote sounds familiar "If you want a dude that's going to come out of nowhere, it's [Robertson]. He's what everyone wants [Penn State's] Drew Allar to be," an AFC scout told ESPN's Matt Miller. "Big, big arm, and he can move."CWood24 wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 1:01 am Every time i watch Sawyer Robertson i come away impressed at the moment i’m seeing early day 3 projections

Everything i said is exactly what he is & what a lot of draft sites say he is there is no getting away from itrcraider wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 2:08 am Hmm that quote sounds familiar "If you want a dude that's going to come out of nowhere, it's [Robertson]. If this team is to have any chance of climbing out of the bottomless cellar, they have to do everything possible to get Mendoza.
It's him or bust in this draft. I have zero interest in anyone else in the 1st round. Simpson needs more time.

If we cannot get Mendoza, draft Simpson and sit him behind Geno one year. And yea, in that scenario we endure one more year of Geno, which gives us another good pick to fill out the roster for when we start SimpsonBoKnows81 wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 3:58 am If this team is to have any chance of climbing out of the bottomless cellar, they have to do everything possible to get Mendoza.

I am watching the tape on Simpson and I am convinced he has the tools despite yesterday's bad game

What is the trade value chart to move up from 2 to 1? It’s Mendoza and Noore for me and I’d like to see Simpson go back for another year

I don't think it matters what the chart says bc the Jets can easily outbid us and overpay. We f[raiders_icon]cked up royally by not trading Maxx to acquire ammo to move up. Our only hope IMO is to somehow get the #1 pick if we want Mendoza.HesterLayes wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 6:08 am What is the trade value chart to move up from 2 to 1?
