He clearly isn’t there yet. I added the 2 rooks as maybes. Receivers rarely look great their rookie year.

Thornton Was always going to be a project. Personally I think it'll be at minimum year 3 before he even becomes consistent enough to be a decent wr 3. Bech was always supposed to be just a possession receiver. But our staff instead of developing him, got enamored with Thornton's speed. And decided to focus on him even though he's much further away from being a consistent contributor

It would be one thing if we were actually rebuilding and moving forward according to some cohesive plan. This season has been a complete waste - we will need to start a real rebuild next year, and actually have more holes now than we did a year ago. Feels like it will take the next two years just to recover from this mess.

2 years is nothin’. I mean it was only a scant 22 to 23 years ago that the team began heading for the NFL cellar due to a man’s battle with the ceaseless march of Time.srv5490 wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 5:19 pm It would be one thing if we were actually rebuilding and moving forward according to some cohesive plan. That Bowers catch will be highlight of the year material. Outside of that another listless performance. Bad on both sides of the ball and Smith is such a limited QB. They don't even throw deep anymore and he still can't get the ball out fast enough. He can kiss his starting career goodbye as he will be backup on his next team.

Pete might be a genius. Raiders have had plenty of opportunities to tank several times only to stupidly win some meaningless games down the stretch. Pete just may be the first coach to do this successfully to get a solid 1st round pick d QB. Then let the building g begin. 5D chess right?????GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 5:36 pm 2 years is nothin’. We hope he’ll get a job as a backup. With the typical backup QB contract, we’ll shave a whopping 2 to 5 mil off the 66,500,000.00 we owe him.heavyD wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 5:57 pm That Bowers catch will be highlight of the year material. Honestly, straight winning.

It's pretty likely it'll be the only time we'll be in a position to draft one though. And there's no guarantee that the 2027 class is going to be any better and that we'll be in a position to draft the best QB of that class.
It looks like we'll have a good shot to get a top 1-3 prospect. To pass it up would be ill advised.

The defense was ok until it wasn't. I thought Olson had a decent enough game plan. He tried to show some patience with the run game. Execution on the field sucked. Bech made some catches. Olson will never be anything but a QB coach but his background is more aligned with what Pete likes to do.
Bowers has proven if you keep targeting him he will makes plays. He is the best TE in the NFL.
OL is overmatched, that's nothing new. Receiving corps can't achieve separation or stretch the field. Geno sucks, he doesn't see the field but not that it matters much because aside from Bowers there isn't anyone getting open.
The best we can hope for is that the rookies continue to develope so they can apply what they learn next season. I don't believe it is a forgone conclusion that Coach Pete is gone after the season (unless he says f[raiders_icon]ck this place). But he needs to clean up the coaching staff save the defensive coordinator.
We all want the same result we just have differing opinions on the solutions.

Depends on what Mendoza, Simpson and Moore do. All three are bonafide first round talents (though not top 5 overall material but will be drafted as such due to position). Thats actually much better than last year but a far cry from 2024.

Exactly. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year, Carroll was good at that, right?srv5490 wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 5:19 pm It would be one thing if we were actually rebuilding and moving forward according to some cohesive plan. Right now... I agree with you. I think he has the tools to be very good. He needs coaching. The Raiders need coaching. Until this team gets a for real, honest to God coach....staff, QB, O line, talent in general, etc... it will just continue like it is now. So............... 5 more years or more?

I didn't call it quits with Pete until after last week's game against Cleveland. For whatever reason, that was the game that illustrated just how bad this team is. Shadeur f'ing Sanders clowned us for crying out loud. Our O-line was the worst its been in any single game since I don't know when.ToastPatterson wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 6:12 pmI don't believe it is a forgone conclusion that Coach Pete is gone after the season (unless he says fck this place). Pete hiring his own son was the worst decision I've seen from a Raider HC since... it might be ever. One of the keys to life is not necessarily making the best decisions. Rather, it's more about not doing foreseeably catastrophic bonehead shit; but that's what Pete did.
We saw Al Davis, one of the great legends of the game, lose his touch. Pete's not immune from that either so let's put an end to it when the last game's over.
