I disapprove of Hondo's existence on this planet.

Remember the thread where a ton of fans wanted to draft Johnny Maziel because he had the it factor? Yeah, from that moment I have always chuckled when people say the draft could do better. We have had crappy drafts, but entrusting it to this board? Oh, hell, no,Opoponax50 wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 8:20 am I've said many times that this forum's consensus would've done a better job at drafting than the team has. All the time, money, and effort that goes into evaluating prospects by this organization and yet the shite it comes up with is... hell, I can't even begin to type the list of adjectives that could be used to describe how pathetic it is.
It can can reasonably be argued that those players wouldn't have excelled here, but on what teams would Tyree Wilson and Ferrel have excelled??? They just flat out suck(ed) and most here predicted that would be the case.
Get rid of the entire scouting staff and let this forum run the draft.

Consensus Raiders Draft. Was Turnip better off just doing the draft via a website?Ocoordinator wrote: Sat Nov 15, 2025 3:27 pm Can you imagine how much better shape we would be in today had we just drafted the consensus best pick in our slots over the years?
But no, we had to try and outsmart everyone else.
Let’s start with 2011. It’s easy enough cause we didn’t have a 1st rounder, and I’m just gonna do 1st rounders. Al traded the 1st for Richard Seymour, who didn’t want to play for us until a bit of legal influence gave him the “good-to-go”. The dingleberry-extraordinary took over the team October 8th, 2011. RIP Big Al.
2012. And what do ya know, no 1st rounder. Traded it for Carson Palmer. We didn’t have a 2nd either. It was used to move up into the 3rd round of the 2011 draft for Joe Barksdale. He played for the Raiders for 1 year.
2013. We chose 12th in the 1st round. We picked D.J. Hayden whose college career ended with an injury that has a 95% fatality rate. Based on the prospect rankings on “Football’s Future” (the site I’ll be using. Edit: until the f[raiders_icon]ckers stopped), the top ranked available player would be Star Lotulelei DT. Star, 119 games played. D.J., 92.
2014. We chose 5th, and we actually got that shit right. Last time I can remember a fist-pump with a hearty “f[raiders_icon]ck yeah” during a Raider’s draft pick. Best available prospect per “FF”, Khalil Mack. Raiders draft, Khalil Mack. Later that day, fat ladies the world over sang to the sight of pigs soaring through the clear blue sky.
2015. We chose 4th. Picked Amari Cooper. Best available per “FF”, Leonard Williams DL. “Big Cat” is still in the league. And I don’t know about y’all, a bad draft pick sucks, but not too far behind that is an uber-talented player who just doesn’t give a shit. Amari was a lazy frustrating f[raiders_icon]cking malcontent. Btw, so far with just the last 3 drafts, the Raiders would be sportin’ the beginnings of a monster Defensive Line.
2016. Picking 14th. Karl Joseph, S. Best available per “FF”, Myles Jack LB. (Jack was also the BA on PFF. I checked to see if the rankings were made pre-injury). Myles played 106 games and Joseph 65. This college season and the injuries that occurred during the bowl season were the impetus for draft-bound players to start sitting out games if they weren’t competing for the “Natty”. I’d still rather have had Jack based on games-played alone despite the fact he fell to the 2nd round.
2017. Picking 24th. Gareon Conley CB. Best Available for both “FF” and “PFF” was Rueben Foster LB. That would have been an even bigger miss than Conley. Had the Raiders avoided him due to his drug test failure at the combine, next up for both sites was Dalvin Cook RB.
2018. Picking 15th. Kolton Miller OT. (FYI, switched from “FF” to “NFL Mock Draft Database Consensus Big Board”. “FF” stopped doing one.) Big Board (“BB”) had Kolton at 27. BA would have been Derwin James S. “PFF” would have been Maurice Hurst DT. We grabbed Hurst with the 3rd pick of the 5th round. One of the very Very VERY few times Gruden didn’t take a fat shit on the 1st round. In retrospect, pure unadulterated f[raiders_icon]cking luck.
2019. Picking 4th. Raiders gonna Raider. Clelin Ferrell DE. “BB”, Josh Allen DE/LB. We did alright with our 2nd 1st rounder in Jacobs RB. Our 3rd 1st rounder was Abram S, a true “Gruden Grinder” who loved to hit. Didn’t matter if it was the team he was playing against, or for. All 3 play for different teams.
2020. Picking 12th. Henry Ruggs WR. “BB” BA, Tristan Wirfs OT. Our 2nd 1st rounder, 19th pick, went to the incomparable Damon “Crayons” Arnette. A wannabe thug-life fool. “BB” BA was K’Lavon Chaisson OLB. What can be said? This 1st round is the undiluted essence of the Mark Davis and Jon Gruden Raiders. Misery loves company.
2021. Picking 17th. Ah yes, Leatherwood OT. “BB” had him at 38. 21 illustrious games in his unheralded career. Out of the league. BA would have been Christian Darrisaw OT. 55 games and counting. Winning
2022. No 1st or 2nd rounder as we traded them to the Packers for Davante Adams. Because Carr. Stupidity + Infinity = The Raiders.
2023. Picking 7th. Tyree Wilson. (Doing this is f[raiders_icon]cking depressing after awhile.) “BB” BA, Tyree Wilson. Oof.
2024. Lucky number 13. We draft Brock Bowers TE. Shows what a good (doesn’t even need to be great) GM can do when left alone to draft. The Raiders response, “Let’s not do that again”. “BB” BA was Dallas Turner DE/LB.
2025. Picking 6th. Ashton Jeanty RB. “BB” BA, Ashton Jeanty. Just needs a better QB, and OLine, and OLine Coach, and Offensive Coordinator, and Head Coach, and Owner.
Thanks to “Ocoordinator” for giving me something Raiders to be interested in.

I stated way before that draft that Khalil Mack would be a superstar. I even had a thread deleted on this site claiming as much.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 7:09 pm Another excellent method would be doing anything in the world to avoid a player you suggest is good.
I also stated correctly that Derek Carr would be our franchise QB when Matt Schuab was our starter.

Great work.

There is nobody worse than you on this site when it comes to opinions on players, talent, and football or NFL knowledge. NOBODY ! Dont fight it , just own it and move onmranquales wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 7:24 pm I stated way before that draft that Khalil Mack would be a superstar. Imagine being so deep up your own ass, so wholly disconnected from reality, you fall under the impression that thinking Khalil Mack would be a good football player somehow makes you unique.RaiderFan1 wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 9:22 pm There is nobody worse than you on this site when it comes to opinions on players, talent, and football or NFL knowledge. I just spent 10 minutes on the ol interweb seeing if I could find a site that DIDN’T think Mack would be good and came up bupkis. Top 5 overall everywhere I went. Smh

Yeah it's a pretty ridiculous idea. Guys on here change their mind 10 times on who they want and then if one turns out good proclaim that's the guy I wantedhaji81872 wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 5:56 pm Remember the thread where a ton of fans wanted to draft Johnny Maziel because he had the it factor? It did, actually. The consensus among Raider fans is he was drafted too high for his position (LB). Many believed he was a one-year wonder from a smaller school.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 10:27 pm Imagine being so deep up your own ass, so wholly disconnected from reality, you fall under the impression that thinking Khalil Mack would be a good football player somehow makes you unique.
Also, we run a 4-3 and he was in a 3-4 in college.
All throughout his rookie year, and even halfway through his second year, his impact on the game week to week was in hot debate. Specifically, when it came to getting sacks.

A more recent example: Jakorian Bennett. He was 4th round pick, and I was dead on the money with my evaluation of him.
I was right about AOC being the best QB on the team at the time, and he currently still is.
I was right about Tyree Wilson, my evaluation of him was the minority opinion, now it's the majority.
