Start Pickett?
At least, we would have Civil War jokes.

How much of Aidan do we have to see to know he is a poor mans backup QB. I get that the backup QB is a fan favorite on shit teams. He blows and we still have no QB.

He's only a backup QB on our shit team. He's a 3rd stringer or waterboy on every other team.RI RAIDER wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 4:23 am How much of Aidan do we have to see to know he is a poor mans backup QB. I get that the backup QB is a fan favorite on shit teams. He blows and we still have no QB.

Not that I'm calling for Pickett, but less an injury to Geno I have a hard time imagining what must happen for Pete to go away from Geno.
My scorecard reads something like this:
1 Good Game
1 Bad Game
2 Games can't determine due to poor protection/zero running (which were common to AOC and Minchew games)
I did find the tweet of teams mimicking what the Chargers did to us and if true Geno and Chip need to figure it out fast.

It's too early in the season to start a QB controversy. That is essentially throwing the towel in. Geno is a veteran I think Pete backing him is the right thing to do. But he needs to utilize his play makers. I am not sure if it's his knee, Kelly's play calling or a poor raport with Geno but Bowers needs to be utilized. A TE like Bowers is a QB's best friend on 3rd down.
Make the defense account for our best player, Bowes can create nightmares with mismatches. Kelly needs to do a better job trying to exploit those. Lack of a number 1 WR to take the cap off of the secondary is really hurting us right now. Tre Taylor and Jakobi Myers are good players but both will struggle against good secondaries as they did against the Bolts. As Brock Bowers goes we go.
Look at Antonio Gates, Travis Kelce, Gronk. Bowers is of that caliber. I am not overlooking who was throwing that esteemed group the ball either.

Giants went off from Wilson. No reason the Raiders can't do the same. I know it's not necessarily apples to apples with Dart in the picture and the Raiders have nothing of the sort like him, but if a player is costing you games, don't play him. No need to over think it.ToastPatterson wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:11 am It's too early in the season to start a QB controversy. That is essentially throwing the towel in. I am not sure that should always apply to the QB, especially as you said there is no Jaxon Dart waiting in the wings. If the coaching staff believes that Geno can be coached out of his mistakes then I feel it's best to let the veteran work through them, you bring up some valid points.DeathStar24 wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:18 am Giants went off from Wilson. My expectations were low coming into the season so I guess that's why I'm easily able to move on from Geno. Nothing to lose. However, if Pete and Co. feel the season isn't a lost cause, I'll understand, though not agree with, sticking with Geno.ToastPatterson wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:26 am I am not sure that should always apply to the QB, especially as you said there is no Jaxon Dart waiting in the wings. Smith has $66 million guaranteed between this season and next. There’s simply no way he’s getting benched this early in his first season. He will be afforded as long as rope as a QB can get.

Maybe you didn't see Russ play when he got benched? He was horrific. Much worse than Geno horrific.DeathStar24 wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:18 am Giants went off from Wilson. Haven’t watched much of Russ this year but Geno had as many INT on Sunday as Russ has all year. Geno was so bad, we couldn’t call pass plays in two minute drill. His game Sunday was as bad any that I ever saw in Derek’s 9 years.Atlasffa wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:33 pm Maybe you didn't see Russ play when he got benched? He was horrific. Not sure anything could be “much worse” than Geno’s Chicago game.- These users gave a High Five to the author Corleone for the post (total 3):

Geno wishes he could have Russ' game this year against Dallas. Or even half of that. Overall, Russ has been bad but Geno has been horrendous.Atlasffa wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:33 pm Maybe you didn't see Russ play when he got benched? He was horrific. Much worse than Geno horrific.

We don’t have a wide-eyed 1st rd QB sitting on the bench.DeathStar24 wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:18 am Giants went off from Wilson. No reason the Raiders can't do the same. Don't forget having coach on a short leash as well. Daboll went to Dart to save his and Schoen's jobs. If Dart looks good, it may be enough.
