no, I was responding to a post from the same day. Resurrecting a thread would mean a thread without posts for an extended period of time. My post was a response for the same day from Atlasffa. Are you taking shots at me just for attention, do you need a high five?raiderkoch wrote: Fri Jul 25, 2025 5:07 pm Did you do that just to resurrect this thread? More high fives to you! LOL!

Actually this would be considered resurrecting the thread with a post from a few years ago…raiderkoch wrote: Thu Mar 17, 2022 11:02 pm Think of how Carr has come out the last two season firing. Think of a coach that can adjust gameplans from game to game, and even within a game. A coach that is a proven commodity offensively. Think of having a TRUE number 1 WR, that Carr has had success with.
Suddenly, this coming season is looking a HELL of a lot better!

So at the end of his career, here is a breakdown
Was he a success? In terms of winning, there is no argument that he failed. Did he put up some numbers? Absolutely, there is no argument that he could throw the ball and get his yards. He actually could make most every throw you want out of a QB. Did he score? Here is where it gets shady. He did so in bursts but when the game was on the line, he tended to rely on others rather than lead. But he was about average as a points generator.
Was he a failure? Some of this falls under opinion. He lost, and he lost on some epic levels. So that equates to failure since you are judged by your record as a QB, But a deeper dive shows that he checked off quite often, going for the low hanging fruit. He bailed on pockets and he lost the handle quite often, way more than most of his peers. But here is where the rubber meets the road. Did he lead? Evidence suggests he did not. He never really elevated the game of players around him. He, perhaps, made Waller a better TE but that goes back to his desire for the low hanging fruit. But he rarely showed true leadership skills.
What is his legacy? Some will suggest his time as a Raider puts him number one all time. History will show this to be false. While there are the numbers, there is not the meat on the bone. There was no win at all costs in his game. There was no embracing of the culture in his game. There was a split with him. He was not a full time Raider. He was a full time secondary job guy who played football. He was far more interested in video games and his pulpit. He was at the end of the day, a football hobbyist who enjoyed the money the hobby provided so he could spend his time doing what he loved. Raider for life, sure. Raider at heart, probably not. Football elite? Certainly not.
I will end with this. He was a Raider who set a lot of team records. He was not a guy who will be remembered fondly such as Stabler, Plunkett, Hoss or Gannon. Even LaMonica and Blanda will hold higher places of honor over him. This is what history will record among Raiders fans. Because we as fans expect one thing and one thing alone. A full out commitment to the team that results in wins. And for those who claim wins are a team thing? Truly, that is the case. But QBs are held to a higher standard. And football fans will always judge QBs on wins and championships. The rest is all noise.
He retires as a guy who is just a guy on the team. He is the Don Majkowski of the Raiders, nice guy, wrong guy.

His legacy is being the biggest pussy to ever play QB in the NFL..The Fresno Fraud talked a good game but no way he was going to do whatever it takes to win...No leadership whatsoever.
No fight,no heart,No leadership,No accountability=No chance...Yes he put up numbers mostly against bad teams and $hit the bed consistently when the going got rough. How many 4th and f[raiders_icon]ck it moments did he have?Far more than any QB I can remember.
All he cared about was his $$$ and his own personal accolades and is sure to bring it up any chance he gets.
For a guy as arrogant as himself he sure was thin skinned, gotta have the record for blocked people on social media.I wish him well in his personal life but as a football player he is a complete embarrassment trying to prop himself up with the greats of the game.
Guy was handled with kid gloves his whole career.Should have never drafted him imo.
Good riddance,Saints found out what he was really about in a hurry.Unfortunately the Raiders took 9 seasons and had Gruden not been forced to leave The Turd would likely still be here
...How this Fraud conned so many people is beyond me,anyone could see he was never "The Guy" and set the franchise back as much as Jamarcus and that's saying something

He retired because he wanted out of NO plain and simple...The kid gloves were coming off once Allen got canned and they were gonna draft a rookie QB...No way The Turd wants to compete for the job.
I'd bet $$$ him and his brother send some feelers out after this season hoping someone wants him...They gonna be disappointed as I think teams have finally figured out what a Fraud he is.
Guess he didn't need that surgery after all...
