“I’m told the Raiders have been continuing to look into at least two candidates in particular that have peaked the interest of ownership behind-the-scenes,” Anderson reported on X. “The availability and interest of said prospects was what was causing the delay on a official decision on Antonio Pierce.”

Based on Anderson’s report, it sounds like the Raiders have a good idea of who they want to be their next head coach, and they must have gotten some level of confirmation from at least one of those candidates that they would take the job if offered.
Flores gives me the most pause out of all those.
I think he was always going to get an interview, not many coaches out there to satisfy the Rooney rule that are actual real candidates. I would hate it if we just interviewed a Dave Shaw and Pep Hamilton to tick the box.

I think Pete Carroll would be tue fastest turn around for this team. Imo he is the only coach out there that gets us to the Harbaugh, Reid Peyton level. Probably not likely to happen but he is the that guy that could have an immediate impact.

Vrable is meh. You could see a better performance from the team under him. But my guess is we would he replacing himnin 2 to 3 years.

Who knows what Johnson might be as a HC but this is the Raiders, so you have to account for 3 losses a season just because you coach the Raiders.

Kingbury? Meh

I mean if you want a top tier football coach, you go Carroll its a no brainer. He is the only guy that would have me glued to the tv come week 1.
If you are the Raiders, you do what ever dumb thing they are about to do.
My heart tells me Vrable, who will make the Raiders a mid-teir team. So if that is what you are going for then cool.

Pretty much every one else is a complete crap shoot
If it wasn't for the age factor it would be a no brainer but 73 is just too old, be like Joe Biden on the sidelines

Dude is sharp still. And I'm not trying to get political here but Joe Biden had major brain surgery twice in his life, whether folks want to admit it or not any major surgery like that takes a toll on how you age. That's kind of besides the point that Carroll is a managerial styled coach. He'll bring the knowledge of how to run an entire football program, as well as PREMIUM coordinator candidates that handle the majority of the X's and O's.
If he had brain surgery like that he shouldn't have run for president.
Not the point being made. Just trying to highlight how Carroll and Biden are not a good comparison. Carroll is in exceptional health for his age. Let's veer away from the politics though
