I like him, he would not be an upgrade but he would be cheaper. If you make this kind of move, you need a rookie to be groomed by him. Minshew has one thing going for him, though. He seems a very genuinely fun guy and that can really carry a locker room.
I disagree, look at his career TD to INT ratio compared to Carr. Carr has truly regressed, Minshew also has the it factor, and you know as well as I that Carr does not.

Minshew is not an upgrade.
If we move on from Carr it has to be a clear upgrade.
Has nothing to do with Rodgers’ politics views. I disliked him long before he became politically vocal. If you care to know why I personally dislike him read my previous response.
I read it. I get where you’re coming from - I think we all knew the guy was an asshole but as long as he isn’t beating on women or shooting people, it’s fair game. Rodgers would elevate this team.

moving on from carr is in itself, a clear upgrade.
This isn’t a rational approach. This is an emotional approach. And that’s not how you reach success in football or anything for that matter.
Have to be smart about upgrading the position.

If we move on from Carr it has to be a clear upgrade.
Minshew is a lateral move with better intangibles (pocket presence, improvisation, guts, etc.).
As for staying with Carr until there's a clearly better player available, that just sounds like an excuse to keep Carr around unless we can land a top 5 QB in free agency, which isn't going to happen. Also, moving on from him may entail a bridge like Stidham while we draft a rookie, which means we may need to get worse at the position before we get better.
What we do know is that It's not going to happen with Carr. There isn't going to be offensive dominance, we're not going to compete with KC for the division title, and we're sure as hell not going to a Super Bowl with him.
It's time to move on.

Minimal numbers but an edge all the way around.

Let’s look for a long term QB, not try to capture lightning in a bottle with an aging one.

Have to be smart about upgrading the position.
Just the relief from his salary upgrades the roster overall. As far as the position itself, it won’t take much to upgrade the position. I used to believe Carr was above average but just not elite. The dude fell off a cliff, he absolutely sucks now. Minshew is better and definitely doesn’t fumble the ball to brace his fall. Carr needs to be gone, watching the countdown clock closely.

Have to be smart about upgrading the position.
quite rational, actually:
- carr gone, along with his '23 cap number
- use said cap to improve other areas of the team [defense, ol]
- get in a combination of competent bridge fa QB and a qb draft pick on a rookie contract to rebuild around
if i could make it any simpler, i would

If we move on from Carr it has to be a clear upgrade.
actually it does not have to be an upgrade at all. It has to be a clear move to upgrade the team, not one player. if we can upgrade the defense so that the QB is not asked to be the singular focus.

It’s reasonable to believe the team will improve in a second year under a new system and a few holes addressed.
If you’re someone that believes the QB is the problem, you would want a QB that makes up for where we lack everywhere else right. If you want to treat the QB position as a “catch-all” position then it’s perfectly reasonable to UPGRADE the position.
“I just want him gone” is not an acceptable approach.

If we are paying significantly less we can upgrade at multiple positions to upgrade the overall team, you the know the other 52 guys DC and fans like you love to throw under the bus.
