I wouldn’t want Carr at a steep discount. His cowardice needs to be removed from the team like a festering hemorrhoid from Rex Ryan’s ass.
Yep,definitely don't want Carr anywhere near my "QB of the future" should we draft one.
you cant convince me that you cant win with carr at 35m when you have win 10 games with almost 30m of actual dead money plus a lot of other dead weight (nassib, ferrell, littleton kwit etc). when we get into the situation that we cant extend above average players on other positions i'd gladly say cut carr and bring in a cheap rookie.
Thought about this a bit more. Again, love your posts, I just get into this stuff.
By definition - paying Carr 15 million more means we have less players to sign. So that is already true.
Perryman and Hayward were playmakers - they are not signed. Crosby and Renfrow coming into year four - not signed.
We have a terrible offensive line, we need players there. We have the 26th ranked defense, we need players there. We have no true WR1, we need a difference maker there. We had the 18th ranked offense with Carr, we need players there.
Do you need more proof? Yeah, Gruden sucked with personnel, that doesn't mean Carr is a keeper, your logic is flawed.
Limited resources always matter.

Here’s the thing. Everyone is talking about “it’s a bad qb draft”. No one knows how any individual QB will pan out.
Consider it was a “bad qb draft “ when they drafted Mahomes. I’ll admit I thought the Chiefs made a mistake by trading up for him. And now? Who wouldn’t give up picks for him? (Aside from homers who can’t admit he’s better than Carr). Point being that it’s a crap shoot with QBs. The only losing move is not drafting QBs like we are doing now.

We are replacing 12-15 level production here, we are not losing someone elite. To come out better at the end of '23 is completely reasonable to expect.
Carr was bottom 10-12 for 3 of the last 5 years. It is what it is. This is a new system again.

Thank God, I thought we got knocked out of the playoffs on a one and done like the dominant '20 Chicago Bears led by Trubisky...
* 4-13 could be Burrows, Chase, Bosa, etc...
We need a real difference maker. Gruden is gone, we hope to get a real GM.

(insert GM/HC here) but they had tunnel vision when it came to DC.....
Just a small history lesson......
The Kansas City Chiefs targeted Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback of the future and paid heavily to move up and snag the big-armed passer.
K.C. traded the No. 27 overall pick, a third-round pick and their 2018 first-round selection to the Buffalo Bills to move up to No. 10 to select Mahomes.
