Re: Raiders Trade Derek Carr And Get a “Boatload” in return | Colin Cowherd Says Carr Deserves Bette
The Giants have some talent on the offensive side of the ball, they play in a very weak division and the Giants have a decent defense. If Carr were the Qb of the Giants, they are a playoff team. They also have two top 10 picks in the upcoming draft.
When Carr makes the playoffs for a team next year, Raider fans will be crying about how they shouldn't have traded him.
And when the Raiders finish 3-14 next year with whatever Qb they get, what will be the excuse?
If we go 3-14 the reason will be due to a complete rebuild.
If Carr does better on the Giants, good for him because he's not going to win anything having to compete with Mahomes and Herbert four times a year. Maybe a weak division with poor competition and enough players around him that don't need to count on him to make plays or be at his best in critical games would be good for him.
Then his cultish followers can begin aggravating Giants fans with the same silliness they've haunted Raider fan-sites with for years.
Maybe that fat 10yr contract Gruden got was to much security, didn't make him earn it. He knew the leash was very long so he could afford years of whatever. Kind of like Carr, joke ass coaches won't threten to pull him so no fire lit. One is gone for good and let's hope the QB is gone soon. *Bart Scott tone and intensity voice...Can't Wait!
Yep...Gruden 2.0 was epic fail...Why he continued the pattern of handling Carr with kid gloves is beyond me...Carr been coddled his whole career.

Giants have some pieces but no way Carr makes them a playoff team...I would argue they may be worse.
Finally if he were to play better elseware good for him...He clearly can't get it done here which is all that counts...No way you'd here me complaining we shouldn't have traded him, that is an absolute fact.
When he gets his extension you can count me out watching this team...When he's finally gone I may be interested again if the NFL hasn't added even more lame ass rules.
I am where you are right now. I follow teams in every major sport but no other team I follow has ushered up as much frustrations as the Raiders ...with their dysfunctional and almost laughable front office, to having a player who folds like a cheap shirt as the leader of the team.
If there are not major changes, I really do not see why I would continue to watch this shit show. This is the offseason to make those changes. The team can trade Carr and whatever other pieces don't fit and build something that may actually contend. I would rather watch a team struggle but shows signs of improvement week in and week out with the promise of contending than watch this same old shit show...of folding whenever games matter and the going gets tough. It is downright embarrassing to watch.
If the Raider organization is so stupid to offer Carr a huge extension count me as one of those fans that will take a break and focus on other sports...and watch other NFL games that do not make me cringe.

We still suck. We have sucked for 20 years. We have attempted to build a house for 20 years. Each time we failed to build a foundation, a roof or flooring. But we finished a bathroom. With the smallest storm the house collapses, each time.
Teams that have success in this league have stability. Teams that changes coaches every two years, are the Raiders and the Lions. Coincidence they are the two worst franchises in football.
Explain to me why the Giants line is bad? Because the media says its so. The Giants o-line is fine. Daniel Jones is the issue with the Giants. The also have running back similar to Josh Jacobs, who loves dancing in the backfield instead of hitting the hole. Barkley has speed unlike Jacobs. SO he has the ability to bounce it outside, unlike Jacobs. When these backs dance in the backfield, they get losses and hold happen.

But I think most of us that want Carr gone, ALSO want the front office overhauled. We need a new direction with a new vision.
I don't want Mayock, I don't want Carr...I don't want anyone responsible for this shit show to be here after this season ends.
A senile Al and a dofus Mark are responsible for this mess. You need to get a real GM, someone who knows how to run a professional football team and HE hires the new HC.
P.S. The organizations that sustain success are those that have a strong front office and strong coaching. The Raiders do not have either. Is your suggestion, that the Raiders must keep both because changing them would cause the organization to fall behind? Really ?

In the real world, a GM who didn't want to work with an already hired HC... wouldn't apply.
They can be hired in either order, as long as the second hire agrees to work with the first hire.
Basic economics.

I'm going up and down threads to read interesting comments. I stopped at "Carr deserve better". No Sir, Carr deserve a bus ticket, or gas money out of Vegas. I would also say he deserves a kick in the ass on the way out, but Carr in the film room would say my foot ran the wrong route. I was to break at 5 yards and kick him in the left ass cheek, and not the right and he went fetal f[raiders_icon]cking up the play.

P.S. I would miss this forum a hell of lot more than watching Carr fold like a cheap shirt as soon as other teams begin to make their push for the playoffs. But yes, would miss this forum.

Or to think that if we draft a QB all the ills of this franchise are fixed and glory is right around the corner.
This is a dysfunctional franchise no better than the Lions, Jets, Browns. Those have been the worst franchises of the past 20 years and to be blunt. The Raiders have been the worst. As hard as it is to admit being fans of this franchise, it's the truth. Firing coaches and drafting QB's in the first round doesn't fix anything.
If you look at most of the QB's that are successful or have been successful they were drafted into stable organizations. If were a QB in college and had first round potentional, I would sit out rather then play for a terrible organization like the Raiders or the Jets. Eli Manning did it, Elway did it and had successful careers. If Elway were drafted by the colts in the 80's he may have been out of the league in 4 years. It matters where you get drafted. Some QB don't have a chance to succeed. Some don't have the talent. Some have the talent and were drafted into terrible situations and had short careers. If a better team drafted them, maybe they could have been great too.
8 years ago if the Patriots would have drafted Carr. And Brady had a career ending injury. And Carr took over that team. Do fans really think that Carr record would be 30-70 or whatever it is. DO you really think that Carr would not have made the playoffs every year. Or won at least 1 super bowl.
