The word "scared" seems mean. It's better to just call him "sensitive".
The thing is, it doesn't matter if we do or don't think Carr was scared, all that matters is the fact the multiple players from multiple teams, first hand on the field with Carr themselves are saying that he's scared. That carries much more weight than anything posted here or any other forum or media.
Year 2015 commentary.

His first scramble for example. He dove five yards in front of the nearest defender.

I don't care what the stats say. Here we are, floundering yet again, losing games we should win easily (Giants and Bears), getting our asses handed to us by division rivals, and on the verge of collapse (if we haven't already collapsed).
I understand that this season has contained horrible off the field events for this team, but the results on the field are still the same as they have been in past years: rise to the occasion or nosedive. We nosedive every time.
In the most important games Carr comes up empty. When we absolutely have to have it, Carr doesn't get it. Since the end of the 2018 season I have been saying that Carr isn't a player that makes things happen. Well coached teams are usually able to contain and limit his effectiveness. Only very rarely will he get outside the pocket and make a throw downfield that burns the D. Rarely can he buy enough time for routes to develop when protection breaks down early. Sure, sometimes he does, but not to any degree that causes opposing defenses to have to account for those things.
His play action is still crap. He has no pump fake to speak of. We have blamed our inability to score TDs in the redzone on personnel, playcalling, and shitty referees, but the constant here is Carr.
Five years is more than enough to know if any player has what you need. 8 years is almost unheard of.

The honey badger never seems to have nice things to say about Derek.
Last year, Carr truly did shut them up. This year, not so much. Is anyone surprised that the TE's, RB's, and checkdowns were well covered?

Carr's first several games this year were really impressive and he kicked them in the teeth last year. I have yet to see the train get back on the tracks though once the slide starts.

What's funny to me is how these morons like "Honey badger" talk shit on Carr, but he had identical stats in both the W and the L against the Chiefs last year:
In the win: 22 of 31, 347 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 126.7 QB Rating
In the loss: 23 of 31, 275 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 119.7 QB Rating
The 1 INT in the loss was a hail-mary at the end of the game... so basically Carr tore up their defense TWICE and he's out here talking shit
even you have to admit he looked far different last Sunday night....and to blame it on Ruggs being gone would be a huge stretch to me

Here's a clip of the Chiefs laughing and making fun of Derek saying he's scared and throwing ducks.
Was it frustration or is he actually scared of taking a big hit? (beating a dead horse) Offensive line should take the blame as well. Except for Kolton.

https://twitter.com/tashanreed/status/1 ... tart%3D675
Just confirms what we've been saying for years now... Carr has never had a good/mediocre defense to help him out.
Every year he's been on the Raiders, our defense has been 25th-32nd ranked.
