I'm not a college football junkie like some of you are, so I've seen very little of these guys. I watch even less in years where the Raiders aren't in the draft market for a QB. But what I saw last night was exactly what I want to see in a QB.
He consistently made plays that translate to the NFL. It wasn't some stupid Manziel runaround then chuck it up to Evans BS. It wasn't WRs who were schemed wide open. It was good decisions, some tight window throws, good ball placement and it was with a run game that they didn't quit on, but it wasn't that effective.
Will he be an elite NFL starter? Time will tell. The ingredients are there and I haven't seen a single red flag.

A look at Allegiant Stadium but think black.
They're here because of Mendoza.
Time to take our stadium back.

I think there's zero chance he returns. He's graduated already. Taking online only courses towards a masters. 1st overall money is nothing to scoff at, the only reason he's still in college was to improve his draft stock.RenoRaiders75 wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 7:46 am We need a plan B in case he doesn't declare for the draft. I am worried he will go back, if they win I think he declares though and I don't think Miami had a chance.

Indiana has no 5 star recruits and only like 7-8 4 star currently on the team.islandboy wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 7:41 am This may have been brought up before…
This is Mendoza’s 1st season with this receiver group. Not sure if the group was highly recruited, but Fernando looks like he has played with these guys for 5 years.
This bodes well for the Raider WR/TE group and whoever we bring in.

Jets board comments
I'm gutted at this point. He was supposed to change everything. Idk where to go from here except for Kyler or Mac, and I'm thrilled with neither of them.
Fernando Mendoza is the best QB prospect since Joe Burrow.
Once Mendoza is on the raiders I think he will look mid. He can’t throw over the middle and once he is moved off his spot he’s pretty limited. Hes like the reverse Johnny Manziel right now but similar in the sense that their games won’t translate.
The response from another member: You're huffing the copium.
Another response from yet another member: You are....quite the poster sometimes.
How're you feeling now? Dont let emotions get in the way of good business. Those 3 wins were good for 15 seconds of dopamine and bad for 5 years of jets football. Congrats on your cute little dopamine spike. I hope it's worth 10 losses over the next 5 seasons.
And the response: Repeat the following line as many times as necessary..."We learned how to win"
When asked how Mendoza compares: The right comp is Peyton Manning. (no but I will take it they are on the ragged edge)
Moore was playing like a jet last night.
There is more but that gives you some idea
