Cignetti is great, but he'll be 65 this year and has never coached in the NFL. He'd instantly be the 2nd oldest coach in the NFL. It'll be interestingg to see how many years he can keep his teams performing at this level, but I can guarantee, it's not going to match Mendoza's career timeline, kid should have a 15 year career if all works out, so might as well find that young guru now and let them grow together.RaiderFan1 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:05 am Hell yeah give up the cash. You need to do that to get the best coaches. He's a guy a lot of teams will be looking at in the near future. Hes a great leader of men. Maybe some how throw a bone to Indiana. Whats the typical language in college coaches contracts about leaving for an NFL job ?
He signed a 9 mil contract w/ Indiana , so offer him $15 mil, and the 1st overall pick in the draft is very enticing , especially if he loves Mendoza.
Fat Andy makes 20 mil per year, and Jim Harbaugh gets 16 mil in his recent contract.- These users gave a High Five to the author Corleone for the post (total 3):

Not necessarily. There's several scenarios where a KC loss doesn't effect our first round pick. Jerry Jones has hinted that Dak may not play a full game, and NYG may win that game the way Dart played last week. There's also a scenario where we pick first even with a NYG loss, we'd need 3 of these 4 to win (SF over Sea, Cin over Cle, NO over ATL, Det over Chi).Rabidraider wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:12 am And a KC loss would most likely mean they wouldn't have to deal with Mendoza for the next decade. I wont relax till we are guaranteed to get Mendoza.
Also, Reid is 67 years old, I doubt he's worried about the next decade besides where he wants to go fishing.

I'm a little worried that half the Giants team is sick and just hoping it won't be an excuse to keep them out.Corleone wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:19 am Not necessarily. I'm a little worried too, but to ease your concerns slightly, the odds are greatly in our favor. Vegas is pretty good at predicting games, using AI to calculate, I'm told teams favored by 5.5 points or more (such as KC is), win over 80% of the time. My concern is Mark Davis is an absolute f[raiders_icon]cking idiot who will be pushing for us to win this game, but I'm not even sure having a retarded owner can make up for how crappy Pete and this team are.BoKnows81 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:23 am I'm a little worried that half the Giants team is sick and just hoping it won't be an excuse to keep them out.

After watching all of yesterday's games and digesting what I saw, Mendoza reinforced his rank atop this year's QBs...Chambliss' stock should move up a good bit too.
But learning more and more about Indiana's team has left me marveling at how well the whole system is run. Starting with the Coach, who has been successful at every stage of his career and his approach as well as bringing in a lot of talented and smart players to Indiana has totally changed its culture.
The OL is very impressive at opening holes for the run game which in turn opens up the passing game. Indiana's Center is a monster and though we already have JPJ, Pat Coogan will get a lot of attention. Indiana's defense is also very solid and complements the offense.
But I have to wonder just how much of Fernando's success is based on his raw talent alone, and how much is a biproduct of his Coach and team mates. (I know it's a combination) Either way, even if the Raiders weren't "tanking", I don't believe they could beat Indiana. The Hooziers may or may not win it all but in my mind they are the most well balanced team I've watch this year.

Umm, yeah no. The worst NFL team would absolutely manhandle the best college football team, and it wouldn't even be close.raidersince63 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:35 amEither way, even if the Raiders weren't "tanking", I don't believe they could beat Indiana.

Yeah that narrative pops up every year and Vegas says the point spread would be in the 50srich_120 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:51 am Umm, yeah no. The worst NFL team would absolutely manhandle the best college football team, and it wouldn't even be close.

As was just pointed out a couple days ago, Cignetti just signed a 4 year contract worth serious jack. I like him, no nonsense kind of guy but he should stick with a program that is on the uptick.Corleone wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:14 am Cignetti is great, but he'll be 65 this year and has never coached in the NFL. Dont you think in the Giants situation they have a reason to want to win, compete and put out full effort for their developing rookie QB ? their QB is deveoping and has gotten better over the latter part of this season. It appears they believe Dart is their future at QB. A team doesnt want to Fvkc that up just for better draft pick. Tanking for the first overall pick when you already have your believed young QB of the future seems like something an NFL team wouldnt strategize to do. You want to see your QB continue to develope and show hes moving forward. I mean if you already decided that Dart wasn't your future, then yes I believe they could possibly tank for the draft position. But for these professional players/teamates, I would think that they would want to play hard for their developing QB, for their future next year and beyond. What is your exact reasoning to counter this view above ?BoKnows81 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 10:23 am I'm a little worried that half the Giants team is sick and just hoping it won't be an excuse to keep them out.

I really think of all the scenarios, NYG beating Dallas may be the likeliest. I just don't trust the Raiders to not f[raiders_icon]ck things up, but the way Dart played last week gives me a lot of hope, and Dallas may ease off the gas if you believe Jerry Jones comments this week.RaiderFan1 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 11:29 am Dont you think in the Giants situation they have a reason to want to win, compete and put out full effort for their developing rookie QB ? their QB is deveoping and has gotten better over the latter part of this season.
